Recently, at the Temple of Literature - National University, the Hanoi Department of Tourism held a press conference about the Hanoi Ao Dai Tourism Festival 2024, one of the activities commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital and stimulating tourism in the last months of the year.

Accordingly, the Ao Dai Festival will take place from October 4-6 at the Thang Long Heritage Conservation Center in Hanoi. The opening ceremony will be held on October 4 at the Doan Mon Square stage, Thang Long Heritage Conservation Center, Hanoi, with the highlight being the art program "The Quintessence of Ao Dai".

At the opening ceremony, collections of ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress) by designers from all over the country, such as Do Trinh Hoai Nam, Duc Hung, Quang Hoa, Cao Minh Tien, Miss Ngoc Han, Thuy Nguyen, La Hang, Vu Thao Giang, Luu Quynh Lan... and ao dai brands like OZ Design House, will be showcased and introduced to the public.

This activity aims to convey the message of Vietnamese tourism in general and Hanoi tourism in particular, transforming the image of the ao dai from a "cultural ambassador" into a "tourism ambassador" - a distinctive tourism product of Hanoi.

During the Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2024, approximately 80 booths promoting, displaying, and introducing ao dai products and accessories from renowned designers and ao dai brands from the North, Central, and South regions of Vietnam will be set up at the Thang Long Heritage Conservation Center in Hanoi.

The Ao Dai Carnival took place on October 5th and paraded along the route from Doan Mon Square, Thang Long Heritage Conservation Center - Hanoi - Hoang Dieu - Hoang Van Thu - Doc Lap - Thang Long Imperial Citadel.

In addition, the program includes activities such as: a fashion show of ao dai (Vietnamese traditional dress) by designers and the final round of the ao dai design competition; exhibitions and displays showcasing ao dai by designers and brands; tourism products and services, traditional craft villages; demonstrations of artwork creation by artisans; and a space to enjoy Hanoi's five flavors of cuisine …

At the press conference, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism Nguyen Hong Minh stated that the Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2024 aims to develop and promote tourism in Hanoi specifically, and Vietnam in general. It also seeks to showcase and honor the traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai, making it a unique and attractive tourism product of Hanoi. Furthermore, it aims to create opportunities for Hanoi's tourism businesses to promote and collaborate with artisans and Ao Dai fashion designers, thereby developing distinctive tours.

The Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism emphasized, "The Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2024 is an activity to promote the image of the capital's tourism as a 'safe, friendly, high-quality, and attractive destination,' attracting locals, domestic tourists, and international friends, gradually establishing itself as an annual event of Hanoi's tourism."

The Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2024 is one of a series of practical activities celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024). This is an annual event organized by the Department of Tourism to develop and promote Hanoi tourism in conjunction with promoting Vietnamese tourism, while also honoring and preserving the unique cultural beauty of the traditional Ao Dai dress of the Vietnamese people.
