TPO – On December 13, the Department of Transport of Binh Dinh province announced that it had temporarily organized traffic across Thi Nai bridge, Quy Nhon city. The time for testing vehicle loading starts from 8:00 to 22:00 on December 15. This is the first sea-crossing bridge built in Vietnam, currently the second longest sea-crossing bridge, after Tan Vu – Lach Huyen bridge in Hai Phong .

According to the Department of Transport of Binh Dinh province, currently, Thi Nai bridge Km4+492 on Quy Nhon - Nhon Hoi route has completed the repair work and repaired the damage.

In order to evaluate the load-bearing capacity of the structure after being repaired and reinforced, the Department of Transport conducted a load test on Thi Nai Bridge. During the load test, temporary traffic restrictions must be implemented.

To ensure the safety of vehicles, traffic will be temporarily restricted for vehicles crossing Thi Nai Bridge to conduct a load test on the bridge. Each test cycle lasts about 15-25 minutes (at this time vehicles are prohibited from crossing the bridge). After each test cycle, traffic will be allowed to clear to avoid traffic congestion and continue to the next cycle.

The time for loading test vehicles starts from 8:00 to 22:00 on December 15. From 8:00 to 12:00, the loading test will be carried out on the bridge. From 12:00 to 14:00, the loading will be temporarily stopped, allowing normal traffic. From 14:00 to 22:00, the loading test will continue on the bridge.

Binh Dinh Department of Transport noted that during each cycle of loading test vehicles, vehicles are prohibited from passing through the bridge for 15-25 minutes. After each cycle, traffic is opened to reduce traffic and the next cycle is carried out until the load test is completed.

Earlier this year, Binh Dinh province approved the investment in the construction of a project to repair cracks and broken concrete structures of piers, approach beams, handle subsidence at the bridgehead, expansion joints, drainage and traffic safety system of Thi Nai bridge. The project is invested by the Department of Transport with a total investment of more than 29.6 billion VND.

Thi Nai Bridge connects Quy Nhon City with Nhon Hoi Economic Zone, more than 2.4 km long with 54 spans. In 2006, the bridge was inaugurated and put into use, becoming the longest sea-crossing bridge in Vietnam at that time. In 2017, Tan Vu - Lach Huyen Bridge (Hai Phong City) with a length of more than 5.4 km was opened to traffic and became the longest sea-crossing bridge in Vietnam.
