The transaction, which includes 17 feed mills, marks a significant step forward in De Heus’ long-term growth strategy, underlining the Group’s continued ambition to provide safe, healthy and affordable food by supporting independent livestock and aquaculture farmers in key growth markets. Following the signing, De Heus will take over all CJ Feed & Care operations in Vietnam, Indonesia, Korea, Cambodia and the Philippines.
Since entering the Vietnamese market in 2009, De Heus has been steadily building and expanding its strong presence in the Asian region. The acquisition of CJ Feed & Care strengthens De Heus’s position in Vietnam, Indonesia and Cambodia, while opening up direct access to two strategic markets, South Korea and the Philippines. These are countries with strong growth potential in the animal protein value chain.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Gabor Fluit, General Director of De Heus shared: “This is an important step in expanding our footprint in the Asian region. By combining our expertise in animal nutrition, farm management and animal health with CJ Feed & Care’s strong local presence, we can create even more value for our customers, partners and the industry. We will continue to work with independent farmers, contributing to building a more sustainable and resilient food system for future generations.”
Sharing more about the decision to acquire the Korean group, Mr. Johan van den Ban, General Director of De Heus Asia and Vietnam, said that this deal marks an important turning point for De Heus in particular and the Vietnamese livestock industry in general. Not only expanding the scale of operations, we also enhance our capacity to support livestock farmers in the Asian region through comprehensive solutions: from high-quality and sustainable animal feed, advanced livestock breeds, on-farm technical support to access to financial solutions.
“Strategic partners such as Topigs Norsvin and Bel Ga will work closely with De Heus to improve the quality of pig and poultry production in existing markets and expand into new markets. De Heus is committed to fully complying with the regulations of state management agencies in implementing activities to improve productivity, strengthen the agricultural value chain and promote environmentally friendly livestock models, contributing to ensuring long-term food security,” said Mr. Johan van den Ban.

Before cooperating with CJ Feed & Care , De Heus and Hung Nhon Group had built a chain of links, successfully developing a large-scale, modern, high-tech livestock model, continuously maintained for the past 15 years and expanded to the Central Highlands provinces such as Lam Dong, Dak Lak, Gia Lai and the Southeast such as Tay Ninh, Dong Nai with a total capital of nearly 10,000 billion VND.
In particular, in Tay Ninh, the DHN joint venture is implementing a chain of 12 high-tech agricultural projects including pig breeding areas, chicken breeding areas, export broiler chicken farms and a modern poultry processing plant in Trang Bang. This is an important step to turn Tay Ninh into a "headquarters", a center for food processing and high-tech livestock farming in Southeast Asia.
Present at the signing ceremony, Mr. Vu Manh Hung, Chairman of Hung Nhon, affirmed: “As an important strategic partner of De Heus in Vietnam, we are committed to continuing to invest in high-tech agricultural zones. These efforts aim to meet the increasing demand for high-quality pig and poultry breeds, contributing to promoting the development of Vietnam's livestock industry”./.
