Dong Nai durian is still sold at good prices.

(DN) - Currently, many provinces in the Southwest region are in the middle of the durian harvest season. Due to difficulties in exporting, the price of this commodity has continuously dropped sharply, with Ri 6 durian being sold at 25-30 thousand VND/kg in some places.

In particular, the price has dropped sharply, but many gardeners still have difficulty calling traders to buy, so they have to cut their own durian and sell it everywhere.

This year, the durian harvest of Dong Nai gardeners is 1.5-2 months late compared to previous years. Accordingly, at this time, only a few gardeners are harvesting, the output is not much. The price of durian sold at the garden has cooled down compared to the same period last year due to the general influence of the market, but is still at a level where gardeners achieve good profits.

According to some traders who are purchasing durian in Dong Nai, currently Ri 6 durian that meets export standards is being sold at 50-55 thousand VND/kg, while the price that traders buy from the garden is at 40-43 thousand VND/kg, a decrease of about 15 thousand VND/kg compared to the same period last year.

Dona durian (Thailand) is currently being harvested sporadically with low output. The price of durian that meets export standards is being bought by traders at around 75,000 VND/kg, down 20,000 VND/kg compared to the previous month. The trading of this item is still going on normally, there is no situation where gardeners need to harvest but cannot find traders to buy.

According to the Department of Cultivation, Plant Protection and Irrigation (Department of Agriculture and Environment), from the beginning of 2025 until now, all samples of Dong Nai durian sent for testing have not violated the cadmium residue on durian. This is also the reason why traders and businesses are still willing to deposit to buy durian from Dong Nai gardeners in the form of garden insurance from the beginning to the end of the season.

This year, durian productivity in many localities in the province is forecast to be high, the percentage of beautiful fruit is also higher than the same period every year, so gardeners expect a harvest with both productivity and quality.
