Nearly 7,000 children in the capital compete in promoting books and singing and dancing about "Vietnam, my homeland"

The Capital Children's Contest to promote and introduce books; Collective dance and singing and Young Children's Songs 2025 with the theme "My homeland Vietnam" received the response of nearly 7,000 children from 97 communes and wards in Hanoi.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), on August 21, in Quang Minh commune (Hanoi), the Hanoi Center for Culture and Sports held the opening of the preliminary round of the Capital Children's Contest to promote and introduce books; Collective dance and singing and Young Children's Songs 2025 with the theme "Vietnam, my homeland".

In his opening speech, Director of the Hanoi Cultural Center and Library Tran Tuan Anh said that the contest is an opportunity to look back at the great and glorious historical values ​​of the nation, thereby arousing revolutionary traditions, patriotism, the will to self-reliance from the nation, the strength of great national unity, national pride and self-respect, and pride in the country and people of Vietnam.

The book promotion contests, group dances and songs contributed to raising the responsibility of the young generation in the cause of building a comprehensive and sustainable country; bringing the country into a "New Era - The Era of National Growth".

According to comrade Tran Tuan Anh, with the desire to create a useful and interesting playground for teenagers and students in the city, the contest helps them spread their passion for reading, book promotion skills and develop their talents in culture and art. From there, discover, nurture and develop the core of art and literature, grassroots propagandists in particular and the cultural and artistic movement of the capital in general. The contest also helps children understand more about the history of the nation's revolution, cultural traditions, homeland, country and people of Vietnam.

“This is a useful and practical annual activity that demonstrates the concern of all levels, sectors and organizations of the city in the work of protecting, caring for and educating children, while attracting the attention and support of society for activities for children. This activity not only has the meaning of promoting the political and social tasks of the Capital's Cultural Sector but also has an important meaning in promoting and introducing grassroots cultural work and libraries,” emphasized comrade Tran Tuan Anh.

The Director of the Hanoi Cultural and Library Center said that the contest plan was issued and implemented during the implementation of the two-level local government arrangement. Despite many difficulties, it still received positive responses from localities. The contest had the participation of 97 communes and wards in the capital, reaching 78% of the total number of communes and wards.

This year's contest is organized with 2 contents: Book promotion and introduction; group dance and singing and young songs. The preliminary round of the contest takes place in 7 days, from August 21 to August 28, at 4 locations: Quang Minh Commune People's Committee; Dong Da Ward Cultural, Information and Sports Center; Phu Dien Ward Cultural, Information and Sports Center; Thanh Tri Commune Cultural, Information and Sports Center.

The teams all brought elaborately and creatively staged performances; introduced books, performed songs and dances praising the Party, Uncle Ho, homeland, country, Thang Long - Hanoi, history, culture, famous people, famous landscapes, and shining examples in the struggle to protect the Fatherland...

The final round of the contest is scheduled to be held in mid-September at the Hanoi Cultural Center and Library (No. 7 Phung Hung, Ha Dong Ward).
