Secretary of the Hanoi Youth Union Nguyen Tien Hung shared: “We are living in sacred days, in an atmosphere full of pride of the capital and the country, towards the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2. This is not only a great event of the country, but also a historical milestone for every Vietnamese citizen, especially the young generation, to look back on the glorious journey of the nation. 80 years ago, union members and young people were the vanguard force standing up with the whole people to fight for independence and freedom... Today, in the sacred and proud atmosphere of the youth, the capital is honored to be assigned by the city to carry out important tasks in organizing the Great Ceremony. This is an opportunity for every young person to express their national pride and spirit of dedication...”.


During the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, the Hanoi Youth Union mobilized 8,800 volunteers to carry out tasks such as: Guiding delegates and distributing necessities at the Ba Dinh Square grandstand; distributing necessities to people at points along the parade route; managing warehouses, allocating and transporting items to distribution points; supporting the assurance of security, order and environmental sanitation; supporting the reception of delegations of people from provinces and cities across the country and international delegations attending the celebration.
Volunteers are carefully selected for their political and moral qualities, good academic performance, some groups of volunteers have good foreign language skills, and are in good health to perform assigned tasks. The City Youth Union arranges about 200 cars to transport the forces to ensure the safety and efficiency of volunteers during the performance of their tasks.
At the meeting, the Hanoi Youth Union presented uniforms such as shirts, hats, volunteer cards, etc. and organized training for volunteers. The training content included necessary skills such as: Supporting security and order, ensuring environmental sanitation, guiding escape, moving victims, first aid, etc., notes when performing tasks, while emphasizing manners, discipline and ensuring safety, etc. Through the program, the youth of the capital conveyed national pride and the spirit of dedication, ready to serve the great national holiday.
