According to the Guangdong Provincial Meteorological Agency, China, at around 10:20 p.m. on September 6, super typhoon Yagi made landfall for the second time in the country's territory.

Specifically, typhoon Yagi entered Tu Van district, Tram Giang city, Guangdong province.
Earlier, at around 4:20 p.m. the same day, the super typhoon made landfall in Ong Dien town, Van Xuong city, Hainan island province, southern China, with winds of up to more than 234 km/hour.
As of noon on September 6, more than 574,511 residents in Guangdong had been evacuated to avoid the storm, including 407,064 in Zhanjiang, where the storm made its second landfall. A total of 84,873 fishing boats had sought shelter in ports.
As of 2:30 p.m. on September 6, Guangdong authorities had suspended 72 of the province’s 94 passenger waterways. 141 pairs of high-speed trains had also been suspended. Schools in 10 cities across the province were also temporarily closed.
Earlier, Hainan province evacuated 419,367 residents in anticipation of the super typhoon. 89 tourist attractions have temporarily closed to avoid the storm; roads, bridges and tunnels have also been temporarily closed in many cities.
The super typhoon killed at least two people and injured 92, Hainan province's Haikou city government said.
China's National Meteorological Center has extended its red alert, the highest level, for Typhoon Yagi as many localities across the country brace for the super typhoon.
According to updated information from the Vietnam National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 10:00 a.m. on September 7, the center of storm Yagi (storm number 3 according to Vietnam's name) was at about 20.6 degrees North latitude, 107.6 degrees East longitude, in the Quang Ninh-Hai Phong sea area. The strongest wind near the storm center is level 13 (134-149km/h), gusting to level 16. It is forecasted that in the next 3 hours, the storm will move in a West Northwest direction, at a speed of about 20km/h.
