The luxury cruise ship Westerdam, carrying 2,000 European and American tourists, arrived in Da Nang.

On the morning of January 2nd, the Da Nang City Department of Tourism held a ceremony to welcome the first international cruise ship to arrive in the city in 2024.

The Westerdam cruise ship docked at Tien Sa port this morning.

Accordingly, the Westerdam cruise ship, carrying 2,000 passengers and 781 crew members, docked at Tien Sa port (Son Tra district).

Passengers and crew mainly came from the Netherlands, the UK, France, Italy, Denmark, Hungary, Canada, the US, South Korea, Japan, Australia, and other countries.

At the welcoming ceremony, visitors enjoyed watching lion dances and wearing Vietnamese conical hats.

During this trip to Da Nang , tourists will visit famous landmarks of the city such as: the Marble Mountains scenic area, Linh Ung Pagoda, Da Nang Cham Sculpture Museum… and enjoy local specialties.

Westerdam is a 5-star luxury cruise ship belonging to Holland America Line. The ship is designed with 11 decks, 14 elevators, 3 swimming pools, and a sundeck.

According to the Da Nang Department of Tourism, in 2023, the city welcomed a total of 22 cruise ships with 18,000 passengers.

According to the schedules of shipping companies registered with Da Nang Port Joint Stock Company, it is expected that 45 ships carrying more than 40,000 passengers will arrive in Da Nang in 2024.
