Students ride horses and shoot archery at the opening ceremony of the new school year

On the morning of October 12, Hanoi National University held the opening ceremony of the 2023-2024 academic year. This is a series of activities within the framework of events celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Government's issuance of the Decree on Hanoi National University (1993-2023).

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Quan, Director of Hanoi National University, said that the opening ceremony of the 2023-2024 school year became more meaningful because this school year, the Hanoi National University urban area in Hoa Lac welcomed nearly 6,000 students from 8 affiliated schools and faculties, 4 times higher than last year.

This year, Hoa Lac area welcomes first-year students from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, University of Technology, Vietnam-Japan University, Law University, students from the Pedagogical Faculty, University of Education , International School, Faculty of Interdisciplinary Sciences and all 10th grade students of the High School of Educational Sciences.

Leaders of Hanoi National University said that from the first semester of the 2023-2024 school year, the school will implement a comprehensive education model for first-year students of training units in Hoa Lac urban area, including 3 comprehensive aspects: Physically strong - mentally strong - good at social skills.

The opening ceremony lasted about 40 minutes, with priority given to students participating in activities such as horse riding, archery, running, stilt walking, and booths.

Students trained according to a comprehensive education model will be equipped with comprehensive capacities and skills that create momentum for success in work and life later on, including: Global citizenship capacity, digital capacity, adaptability and innovation capacity.

The 2023-2024 school year is the first year that more than 700 first-year students of the University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi will study at the Hoa Lac campus. Here, 100% of students will stay in dormitories and study and experience a comprehensive educational model, contributing to building a generation of global citizens.

Starting from the second semester of the 2023-2024 school year, Hanoi National University will develop a new physical education program, including officially introducing traditional martial arts into teaching for students of Hanoi National University.

Along with that, Hanoi National University organizes sports activities in the form of a club for students, aiming to develop their strengths, create interest, and maintain the habit of regular exercise for students.

In Hoa Lac, in addition to the lecture hall complexes HT1 and HT2 that are operating and serving students since 2022, Hanoi National University has completed the lecture hall - dormitory complex at QG-HN04 to meet the study and accommodation needs of thousands of students.

Students enjoy walking on stilts and dancing at the opening ceremony.

At the same time, Hanoi National University also focuses on building infrastructure, synchronizing related items such as lecture halls, dormitories, research areas, physical education, utility services, healthcare, and experiential activity areas.

It is expected that by 2025, the facilities of Hanoi National University in Hoa Lac will complete phase 1 and be put into operation to serve training and research for 15,000 students.
