The seminar had the participation of 2 experts from leading semiconductor companies, helping Hue University students better understand the potentials, opportunities and challenges in training human resources for this attractive industry.
Mr. Bui Quang Ngoc, Senior Director of Marvell Vietnam Company, said that the process of designing and manufacturing microchip products goes through many different stages, in which engineers in Vietnam are participating in most of these stages.
Vietnamese engineers are highly appreciated for their creativity, diligence, honesty and openness in the working process. Microchip engineers in Vietnam are also gradually participating in the most important stages including system design, complex microchip design, etc.
In the coming time, Marvell Vietnam Company will actively cooperate with units of Hue University to train human resources for this field, meeting the needs of the microchip and semiconductor industry.

Mr. Nguyen The Hien, General Director of DreamBig Semiconductor Company, also said that Vietnam currently has more than 40 enterprises operating in the field of chip design, with a total workforce of more than 5,000 engineers and is increasing over time.
Developing a supporting business ecosystem and a team of chip design engineers, electronics engineers and embedded programmers will help Vietnamese human resources become more prestigious and gradually participate more deeply in stages in the semiconductor microprocessor value chain.
In particular, after the seminar, DreamBig Semiconductor Company opened a training program on IP architecture, design and testing. The program will recruit 30-40 students studying majors related to microchips and semiconductors at Hue University for training, aiming to soon supply human resources for the company as well as units in need in Thua Thien-Hue and nationwide.
Students are interested in sharing about the field of semiconductor technology.

The seminar is considered an effective bridge between students passionate about scientific research and experts in the field of semiconductor technology, while also exploring future job opportunities.
At the seminar, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quang Lich, Head of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Hue University , also shared information on human resource training related to the field of microchips and semiconductors at Hue University .
Specifically, Hue University currently trains nearly 300 students annually in the field of microchip and semiconductor technology such as electrical and electronic engineering, control and automation engineering, data science and artificial intelligence, telecommunications, mechatronics, etc. However, according to experts, there are currently no specialized training programs for microchip and semiconductor technology in Vietnam. Therefore, human resources to serve this industry are still a challenge for training units.
In 2024, the Director of Hue University directed units to coordinate with enterprises to open specialized majors to train human resources in the field of microchips and semiconductors on the basis of using human resources and shared facilities of Hue University . Up to now, Hue University has 2 facilities opening majors and training majors related to semiconductors: microchip design technology at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology; and semiconductor technology at the University of Science, Hue University.
