Hong Duc University: Reaching out from the foundation of the team

From the early days of its infancy, the School has affirmed its position with strong development, especially in the quality of its staff and lecturers - the core factor in building a solid brand and reputation.

Upgrade from team quality

Since its establishment, Hong Duc University has clearly identified: building a team of good, dedicated, and highly qualified staff and lecturers is the "key" to sustainable development. With a strategic vision, the Party Committee Standing Committee and the School's leadership over the years have issued many resolutions and regulations on staff training and development; at the same time, implementing staff development plans for each specific stage.

If in the early years, the School only had 11 PhDs and 80 Masters, then up to now this number has made great progress. In 2025, the School has a total of 704 staff, including 427 lecturers, with 194 PhDs (including 29 Associate Professors) and 346 Masters. The proportion of lecturers with postgraduate qualifications accounts for over 90% - a clear demonstration of the School's methodical, long-term and sustainable investment orientation.

Not only focusing on improving professional qualifications, the School also promotes training in political theory, state management, and university education management skills for staff and lecturers. The combination of academic knowledge and political courage has helped the School's staff mature comprehensively. Many young lecturers are entrusted with important management responsibilities, clearly demonstrating a solid inheritance and continuous development.

Towards 2030, Hong Duc University sets the target: at least 55% of lecturers have doctoral degrees; 10% have the title of Professor, Associate Professor (including at least 2 Professors); 45% of lecturers teach fluently in foreign languages. To realize this target, the University implements synchronous solutions: sending lecturers for doctoral and post-doctoral training at home and abroad; building a mechanism to attract high-quality human resources; encouraging international academic exchanges; developing training in English.

At the same time, the School focuses on building a reasonable employment and treatment regime to retain talented people. The income mechanism is adjusted according to capacity, job position and work results, associated with a modern and friendly working environment. Internationally published research works all have a worthy reward policy, creating motivation for lecturers and scientists to continue to contribute.

In the context of digital transformation, Hong Duc University is gradually building a smart university model and a digital academic community - opening up a dynamic and creative teaching and research environment, meeting the requirements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

28 years of achievements and integration vision

Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Van Dung, Principal of the School shared: "The remarkable progress in the staff and lecturers is not only a source of pride but also a solid foundation for Hong Duc to continue to improve training quality, expand professions, promote research and technology transfer".

Those achievements are recognized through many noble awards: Third-class Labor Medal (2002), Second-class Labor Medal (2011), First-class Labor Medal (2017). In the 2020-2025 term alone, the School was honored to receive 4 Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Education and Training , 1 Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Public Security, 1 Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Friendship Medal of the Lao PDR; and many individuals were awarded noble orders and medals.

In addition to affirming the quality of the staff, the School also invests in synchronous facilities: 163 classrooms, 47 laboratories, 1 practice workshop, 1 Information - Library building, modern Sports - Physical Education complex. Currently, the School trains 7 doctoral majors, 21 master's majors (including international links), 42 university majors and many training and certification programs. The quality of enrollment is increasingly improved, the student enrollment rate is from 80 - 90%; many teacher training majors are among the group with high benchmark scores in the country. In particular, the rate of students having jobs after one year of graduation is from 70 - 90%.

In the integration trend, Hong Duc University continues to affirm its position as a prestigious training center, meeting the demand for high-quality human resources for Thanh Hoa province, the North Central region and the whole country.
