Digital economy is the "key" to building a smart, livable city of Da Nang

DNO - On the afternoon of September 22, in Da Nang city, the workshop on digital economic development of Da Nang city in 2025 took place. Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Quang Buu and Director of the Department of Science and Technology Nguyen Thanh Hong chaired the workshop.

Speaking at the workshop, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Quang Buu said that for Da Nang, developing a digital economy is not only a strategic task to improve competitiveness, but also the key to building a smart, creative, livable and sustainable city.

In recent years, Da Nang city has implemented many breakthrough solutions and achieved some positive results in the field of smart city construction, digital transformation associated with administrative reform and digital economic development.

Da Nang City for 4 consecutive years Leading the country in the provincial digital transformation index (DTI); honored as a typical Smart City of Vietnam for 5 consecutive years.

According to statistics, the digital economy accounts for about 24% of Da Nang city's GRDP in 2024. Da Nang aims for the digital economy to reach at least 35-40% of the city's GRDP by 2030.

At the workshop, speakers shared and presented many contents about the current state of the digital economy in Vietnam; measuring and orienting the development of the digital economy in Da Nang; developing e-commerce in Da Nang; plans to develop an international financial center in the city...

According to the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, in order to achieve the digital economic development goals according to Plan No. 21 of Da Nang on implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation in the city, Da Nang hopes to receive the support of experts, corporations, businesses and organizations at home and abroad.

The city is committed to creating a favorable environment, transparent policies, and maximum support so that new initiatives and creative solutions can be effectively applied in practice.
