Da Nang invests more than 200 billion VND in developing semiconductor chip design and AI

The total estimated investment of the project is over 200 billion from the city budget. The project is proposed to be installed in the Data Center area on the 2nd floor of the ICT building in Software Park No. 2, Hai Chau Ward. Project implementation period is 2025 - 2028.

According to the City People's Committee, in the context of the world entering the AI and semiconductor era, computing capacity is becoming a decisive factor in the competitive position of countries and cities.

With the vision of becoming a center of innovation and high technology in the Central region, Da Nang has issued many important resolutions and policies on human resource development, infrastructure and businesses in the fields of AI and semiconductors.

To realize these resolutions, a strong enough infrastructure is needed, which is the high performance computing (HPC) system.

HPC investment is not only a technical category, but also a strategic decision for Da Nang to create a breakthrough foundation in the field of semiconductors and AI. HPC helps the city master technology, nurture startups, attract investment, and at the same time solve socio- economic problems.

The project contributes to attracting investment, supporting innovative start-ups, microchip, semiconductor and AI businesses at Software Park No. 2; at the same time connecting universities in the city to support research and training in microchip design and AI.
