The number of hand, foot, and mouth disease cases is increasing.

According to statistics from the Provincial Center for Disease Control (under the Department of Health), in week 29 (July 11-17), the province recorded 304 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD), an increase of 67.03% compared to the previous week (182 cases) and an increase of 77.78% compared to the same week in 2024 (171 cases).

Also in week 29, the province recorded 19 cases of measles, an increase of 9 cases compared to the previous week (10 cases) and an increase of 18 cases compared to the same week in 2024 (1 case).

Currently, during the rainy season, children gather to play together indoors, making diseases, especially Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD), more easily spread. Therefore, the Provincial Center for Disease Control recommends that regional health centers and commune/ward health stations proactively monitor and handle HFMD outbreaks and communicate preventive measures to limit the number of HFMD cases. At the same time, they should strengthen communication to encourage people to have their children vaccinated against measles on schedule and with the correct dosage.
