Notably, the number of COVID-19 cases requiring hospitalization as well as the number of deaths has increased in consecutive weeks since the traditional Songkran festival in Thailand from April 11 to 15. In light of this situation, the Department of Disease Control recommends that people resume preventive measures that were strictly imposed when the COVID-19 pandemic was strong, including ensuring a contact distance of 1-2m, avoiding crowded places, wearing masks in high-risk locations, washing hands frequently with water or alcohol-based sanitizers, and getting tested for COVID-19 if symptoms of cough, sore throat, runny nose, headache, etc. appear.
