The Ha Hoa Regional Health Center (Phu Tho province) reports that recently, there has been an increasing trend in the number of parasitic disease cases across various age groups. Common diseases include roundworms, tapeworms in dogs and cats, and liver flukes.
Notably, some patients exhibit larval migration under the skin, but this is easily mistaken for a common dermatological condition because the initial symptoms are only itching, rashes, or skin discomfort.
According to doctors, the main causes are related to unhygienic eating and living habits such as eating raw or undercooked food, using unsafe food, contact with pets without washing hands properly, and not deworming humans or pets regularly.
Experts advise people to eat cooked food, drink boiled water, maintain personal hygiene, deworm regularly, and proactively seek medical attention when experiencing unusual symptoms such as prolonged abdominal pain, itchy skin, rashes, or unexplained weight loss for timely diagnosis and treatment.
