Summary of the Emulation Movement for Victory in the first six months of 2026

On the afternoon of May 26th, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Emulation Bloc No. 2 of the Vietnam Coast Guard held a conference to review the emulation and reward work and the "Determined to Win" emulation movement for the first six months of 2026.

On the afternoon of May 26th, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Emulation Bloc No. 2 of the Vietnam Coast Guard held a conference to review the emulation and reward work and the "Determined to Win" emulation movement for the first six months of 2026.

Attending and directing the conference was Major General Tran Van Xuan - Deputy Political Commissar of the Vietnam Coast Guard, Standing Vice Chairman of the Emulation and Commendation Council of the Vietnam Coast Guard. Colonel Le Van Tu - Political Commissar of Coast Guard Region 3, Head of Emulation Bloc No. 2, chaired the conference.

Also attending the conference were members of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, the Commanders of Coast Guard Regions 1, 2, 3, and 4; members of the council and the Standing Office of the Emulation and Commendation Council of the units.

At the conference reviewing the first six months of 2026, units within the bloc effectively implemented emulation and reward programs and the emulation movement in the armed forces, linking them with the fulfillment of key political tasks. The emulation movement was implemented synchronously, closely adhering to the theme "Unity, discipline, breakthrough, creativity, and decisive victory," creating motivation to encourage officers and soldiers to overcome difficulties and successfully complete their assigned tasks.

The units strictly maintained combat readiness; proactively monitored, assessed, and accurately predicted the situation at sea; and promptly advised and effectively handled situations, preventing any passive or unexpected events. In the first six months of the year, the units deployed over 545 ships and boats to carry out missions to protect sovereignty , enforce the law; prevent and combat IUU (Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated) fishing; and conduct search and rescue operations, covering more than 323,000 nautical miles safely.

The fight against crime and violations of the law at sea has achieved many outstanding results. Units inspected 171 vessels, confiscated over 1 million liters of diesel fuel, nearly 1,000 tons of coal, and many other infringing items, with total fines exceeding 23 billion VND. Simultaneously, they coordinated the arrest of 18 cases/37 individuals involved in drug-related activities. They also received, coordinated, and verified 102 cases of maritime rescue and relief, safely rescuing 71 crew members and fishermen.

The Emulation Movement for National Defense is also linked to mass mobilization work, social welfare, and propaganda on the sea and islands. Units have effectively coordinated and organized programs such as "Coast Guard accompanying fishermen," "Coast Guard accompanying ethnic and religious communities," the "I love the sea and islands of my homeland" contest, and many practical social welfare activities. Through these efforts, they have disseminated legal information and combated IUU fishing to over 31,490 people; provided information to over 6,117 fishing vessels with 52,837 crew members; and donated over 4,100 national flags along with many gifts, scholarships, and bicycles to people and students in difficult circumstances.

Speaking at the conference, Major General Tran Van Xuan - Deputy Political Commissar of the Vietnam Coast Guard - commended the outstanding achievements of Emulation Bloc No. 2 in the first six months of 2026. He also requested that units within the bloc "actively participate in and organize vibrant and widespread emulation movements among units, creating motivation and leverage to promote the excellent completion of assigned tasks; promote activities to visit and learn from experiences, innovative and effective methods and advanced models among units; and intensify the implementation of the high-intensity emulation campaign to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Resistance Day (December 19, 1946 - December 19, 2026); and strive to achieve outstanding results to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Vietnam Coast Guard Traditional Day (August 28, 1998 - August 28, 2028), effectively implementing the targets of the 2026 emulation movement." The emulation movement, a campaign at all levels and in all sectors, has contributed to the excellent fulfillment of assigned political tasks, achieving many new accomplishments and victories in the last six months of 2026 and the following years.
