On January 4, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs held a conference to review the work in 2023, deploy key tasks and launch the emulation movement in 2024.
In 2023, with the proactive and effective implementation of solutions, programs, projects, and policies on labor, employment, social assistance, poverty reduction, etc., many targets and plans of the Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs sector have been achieved and exceeded the set plan.
Typically: 17,605 people were recruited and trained (exceeding the annual plan by 0.6%), the rate of trained workers reached 69.5%; jobs were created for 20,486 people, exceeding the annual plan by 5.6%, of which 2,036 people were exported (exceeding the annual plan by 45.4%); the poverty rate decreased to 1.86% (down 0.5% compared to 2022); the near-poor household rate was 2.27% (down 0.54% compared to 2022). Thus, the reduction in the number of poor and near-poor households in 2023 exceeded the plan assigned by the province by 31.7%.
In addition, the tasks of developing the labor market, wages, social insurance, unemployment insurance have made much progress; occupational safety and hygiene, labor relations continue to be improved; the work of caring for people with meritorious services, social protection is implemented promptly and fully, the work of preventing social evils, protecting children, gender equality has many positive changes... contributing significantly to ensuring social security, political stability, social order and safety in the province.

Based on the results achieved in 2023, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has set specific targets for each sector in 2024. Accordingly, the Industry aims to create new jobs for over 19,400 workers, of which 1,400 will be exported; recruit and provide vocational training for over 17,500 workers, with the rate of trained workers reaching 71%; ensure that 100% of poor and near-poor households are eligible to enjoy preferential policies of the State on health,education , housing, etc.
