Exciting Futsal Games for Students

The final round of the 2026 National Student Futsal Championship (held from May 20th to May 29th) brought a vibrant competitive atmosphere, spreading the sports movement widely throughout Da Nang.

"Meeting point" of passion

For over two weeks, the multi-purpose gymnasium of the Faculty of Physical Education, Da Nang University, has become a "meeting place" for sports enthusiasts, especially futsal fans. From the Da Nang regional qualifiers to the finals, the 2026 National Student Futsal Tournament delivered thrilling matches, attracting large crowds of cheering spectators.

Regularly attending the matches, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Binh, Director of Nanikids Futsal Training Center, said that the tournament in Da Nang is highly competitive, bringing a vibrant atmosphere from the stands to the playing field. This is essential for the Futsal movement in Da Nang to spread even wider.

Along with passionate sports enthusiasts, the cheerleading squad, comprised of numerous students from colleges and universities in Da Nang and across the country, creates an exciting atmosphere.

Hoang Van Hung, a student at the University of Technology - Da Nang University, shared: “I am passionate about many sports, including Futsal. This time, with the tournament taking place on home ground, I and other students from my university formed a cheering squad to support the University of Technology and the competing teams. I'm very happy not only to watch the exciting and captivating matches, but also to have the opportunity to meet and interact with students from all over the country at this tournament.”

The 2026 National Student Futsal Championship is an exciting competition for teams, organized by Vietsport Investment Joint Stock Company. The final round features 12 outstanding teams that qualified from three regions: Da Nang University of Technology, FPT University Da Nang, Dong A University Da Nang, FPT Polytechnic Da Nang, Phuong Dong College Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, Academy of Finance, Hanoi University of Business and Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports, FPT Polytechnic Ho Chi Minh City, Van Hien University, and the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology.

After several intense rounds, the four outstanding teams that qualified for the semi-finals are: FPT Polytechnic College Ho Chi Minh City; Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry; Van Hien University; and Hanoi University of Business and Technology.

Nguyen Duc Minh, a player from FPT Polytechnic College in Ho Chi Minh City, shared that his impression of participating in the tournament in Da Nang was the enthusiastic support from the spectators in the stands. This was a great source of motivation for him and his teammates to strive to play well, deliver exciting and beautiful plays, and aim for the best possible results.

Spreading the movement

The 2026 National Student Futsal Championship marks the fourth time this event has been held in Da Nang. The matches of the tournament contribute to spreading the indoor football movement in particular and physical education and sports in general among students.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Physical Education at Da Nang University, hosting national student sports tournaments is a priority for the institution every year, aiming to promote the development of the sports movement.

Along with Futsal, the National Student Basketball Championship has also been successfully held in Da Nang many times, leaving a good impression. In addition, Da Nang University regularly organizes sports tournaments and events. Recently, the 14th Da Nang University Student Sports Games in 2026 were successfully held with the participation of nearly 1,000 athletes, coaches, and delegation leaders from 9 training units.

Mr. Nguyen Son Ha, Head of the Organizing Committee of the 2026 National Student Futsal Tournament, said that the strong development of sports among students in Da Nang, attracting many players and spectators, is the basis for the organizing committee choosing the city as the destination for the qualifying and final rounds of this year's tournament. The enthusiastic support from the local authorities and the excellent facilities at the multi-purpose gymnasium of the Faculty of Physical Education, Da Nang University, helped make the matches exciting and of high professional quality.

“Each tournament held in Da Nang has received enthusiastic support from numerous teams and spectators, demonstrating the local government's interest in and focus on sports development. Prior to the 2026 National Student Futsal Championship, we successfully organized the 2026 National High School 7-a-side Football Tournament in the Central region. From now until the end of the year, the finals of the 7-a-side football tournament for high schools and the National Student Volleyball Championship will continue to take place in Da Nang. These tournaments promise to bring a vibrant competitive atmosphere, connecting the passion for sports among students in Da Nang in particular and the whole country in general,” Mr. Ha said.
