The "trade-in" phone market is bustling

After more than 10 days, many retail store owners said that the number of orders is increasing rapidly but the supply is still not guaranteed, so the price of the iPhone 15 series is still quite "sensitive".

Mr. Nguyen Duong Phi - owner of mobile phone store duongphi.com (Ward 4, Vinh Long City) shared: "Compared to last month, the price of old, unused iPhones has not decreased much, but the prices of some of the latest iPhone models have not decreased at all, even tending to increase slightly because Apple often stops producing old models after launching new products.

However, many people still think that the price of previous generation products will decrease sharply, so they hunt for them, unintentionally causing the price of those products to increase and sell out. As a result, the used iPhone market has also become more active. Currently, the store is applying a program to celebrate its 10th birthday with many attractive gifts, up to 50% discount on phone accessories when buying used iPhones with bills over 15 million VND.

The launch of the iPhone 15 series has somewhat boosted the demand for buying and selling used phones.

In Vinh Long City, many phone stores such as 126.vn, duongphi.com… are also promoting the sale of used phones, with a booming trade-in program with good subsidies, simple procedures, quick inspection and valuation time, helping users to “upgrade” to the iPhone 15 series more easily. Accordingly, the stores will assess the quality of used phones of customers and come up with appropriate subsidy plans.

Specifically, in the case of users using iPhone 14 Pro Max (256GB) who want to upgrade to iPhone 15 Pro Max (256GB), 126.vn store will appraise the device according to specific quality criteria, valuing the old one at about 20 million VND, the user will pay an additional 15 million VND to own iPhone 15 Pro Max (256GB) (price depends on the time of appraisal).

To meet customer needs, mobile phone stores have continuously updated previous generation iPhone models, used at many competitive prices.

With nearly 12 years of experience in the mobile phone business, Mr. Cao Tran Bao Khanh - representative of Bao Minh 126 LLC (Ward 1, Vinh Long City) said: "Using used phones is a trend of saving money for many people, the rate of users looking to buy used iPhones at 126.vn stores accounts for 60-70% compared to people buying new phones.

Accordingly, used iPhone 11/12/14 Pro Max is the product that users are looking to buy the most, the price of used iPhone 12 Pro Max ranges from 14.5-18.5 million VND, the price of used iPhone 14 Pro Max ranges from 21-24 million VND...".

On Cho Tot - a website for buying and selling used goods, the average price of used iPhone 12/13/14 Pro Max (128GB) versions ranges from 13-23.5 million VND, which is about half to several million VND cheaper than new phones.

Mr. Khanh shared that the best time to buy a used iPhone is a few weeks after the new generation iPhone is released because "at that time, owners of the latest iPhone models will want to liquidate to own the latest version, most of these models are still under warranty and have not had their components replaced".

According to many people, when participating in the "trade-in" program, users need to carefully choose a reputable supplier through reviews from other users on social networking sites; carefully refer to the purchase conditions and old purchase prices on official websites, as well as official information channels to avoid being forced to pay higher prices, and closely monitor the price appraisal process...

Particularly for buying used phones, users can ask consultants to provide information on the product's origin, repair history, operating status, review scratches and dents on the case and screen; fingerprint sensor function, camera, speaker, battery status, operating system, etc.
