The "I Love My Homeland's Seas and Islands" contest is in full swing!

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - On the morning of May 16th, at Quang Minh Primary School (Sam Son City), the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, in coordination with the Command of Coast Guard Region 1, organized the "I Love My Homeland's Sea and Islands" competition. The competition is part of the "Coast Guard Accompanying Fishermen" program.

Attending the program were Comrade Pham Van Tuan, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Lieutenant Colonel Truong Van Hung, Deputy Political Commissar of the Coast Guard Region 1 Command; representatives from various agencies, units, and localities; and a large number of teachers and students.

The competition featured 100 outstanding students from three schools: Quang Minh Primary School, Quang Minh Secondary School, and Quang Hung Secondary School (Sam Son City).

The students participated in the competition "I love the sea and islands of my homeland".

The contestants participated in four rounds of competition: Setting Sail; Overcoming Waves; Reaching the Shore; and Establishing Sovereignty Markers, with multiple-choice questions testing their knowledge of Vietnam's seas and islands, the 2012 Vietnamese Law of the Sea, the Vietnamese Coast Guard Law, and the duties, functions, and traditions of the Coast Guard force.

The organizing committee awarded the first prize in the "I love the sea and islands of my homeland" contest.

At the end of the competition, the Organizing Committee awarded first, second, third, and consolation prizes to the students. They also presented awards to students who participated in the painting competition on the theme "The Sea, Islands of the Homeland and the Vietnamese Coast Guard Soldier".

The organizers presented bicycles to the students.

On this occasion, the Command of Coast Guard Region 1 presented 25 bicycles and 35 gift packages to underprivileged students from three schools; and also presented meaningful gifts to the three schools.

The competition is a healthy and beneficial playground for students, contributing to building and fostering patriotism, love for the sea and islands of the homeland, and raising the awareness and responsibility of students towards the cause of building and protecting territorial sovereignty, maintaining security and order, and safety in the sea and island areas of the Fatherland.
