Attending the program were comrade Pham Van Tuan, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Lieutenant Colonel Truong Van Hung, Deputy Political Commissar of the Coast Guard Region 1 Command; representatives of agencies, units, localities and a large number of teachers and students.
The contest had 100 outstanding students from 3 schools: Quang Minh Primary School, Quang Minh Secondary School and Quang Hung Secondary School (Sam Son City).

Candidates went through 4 rounds: Going to sea; Overcoming waves; Arriving at port and Setting up sovereignty markers with multiple choice questions on knowledge about Vietnam's seas and islands, Vietnam's Law on the Sea 2012, Vietnam Coast Guard Law, tasks, functions, and traditions of the Coast Guard force...
The organizers awarded first prize in the contest "I love my homeland's sea and islands".
At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded first, second, third and consolation prizes to the students. At the same time, awards were given to students participating in the Painting Contest with the theme “Homeland Sea and Islands and Vietnam Coast Guard Soldiers”.
The organizers gave bicycles to the students.
On this occasion, the Command of Coast Guard Region 1 presented 25 bicycles and 35 gifts to disadvantaged students of 3 schools; and presented meaningful gifts to 3 schools.

The contest is a healthy and useful playground for students, thereby contributing to building and fostering patriotism, love for the homeland's sea and islands, and raising students' awareness and responsibility for the cause of building and protecting territorial sovereignty, maintaining security, order and safety in the seas and islands of the Fatherland.
