When the first generation Cayenne debuted in the early 21st century, many true Porsche fans considered this car a "sinner" for ruining the pure sports car lineup. However, the Cayenne quickly became the best-selling model in the brand's history with a series of variants. Of which, the Cayenne GTS has a capacity of 405 horsepower (between the Cayenne S with a capacity of 385 horsepower and the Cayenne Turbo with a capacity of 500 horsepower). Notably, the first generation GTS also has a 6-speed manual transmission option.
The Sonderwunsch program has undertaken the project of restoring this first-generation Porsche Cayenne GTS luxury sports SUV to a better-than-factory condition. The car, owned by an American businessman, had 50,000 miles (80,000 km) on the odometer and was sent to the Porsche factory. For the first time, the team restored an SUV instead of a classic sports car - the Carrera GT. However, this first-generation Porsche Cayenne GTS SUV is still the best finished. The owner shared that he was inspired by the 911 Spirit 70 – a special edition that pays homage to the style of the 1970s.
He also requested that the trailer hitch remain, as he dreams of one day towing the Airstream across the desert near Dubai. The side panels feature all-terrain tires. The special Blackolive paint color, combined with premium English Green leather interior with classic black-olive Pasha motifs appearing on the seat and inside the storage compartment. Standard equipment on the Cayenne GTS includes: 2-zone automatic air conditioning system with air filter. AM / FM / CD / MP3 infotainment system with 11 Bose speakers... but the interior is renewed and more beautiful.
Originally, the car was equipped with quite a few "toys" such as: air suspension system that allows raising or lowering the car height by 20mm, using the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) active suspension management system. The first-generation Cayenne SUV didn't get the same acclaim as other Porsche sports cars, but it was still an important milestone in the company's history.
