Bovet 1822's first boutique in Melbourne's financial centre marks a new milestone in the relationship between S&S Group and the Swiss watchmaker, on November 19.

The partnership between S&S Group and Bovet 1822 marks a new milestone, as both brands open their first boutiques in Australia. The new boutique is located on Collins Street, near the historic Block Arcade shopping area in Melbourne’s financial centre, which attracts many prestigious names in the fields of business, media and entertainment.

Sharing the reason for opening the new Bovet 1822 boutique, a representative of S&S Group said that the two sides had a long time of cooperation, together analyzing and carefully researching the market, before deciding to do business in Australia.

"The watch market in Australia is growing rapidly. Watch enthusiasts here focus on the aesthetics and precision of timepieces. We hope to be a part of this development, bringing guests unique and unforgettable experiences," said a representative of S&S. "The boutique location has similarities with Bovet 1822 in terms of history, originating from the 19th century. The legacy that the Bovet 1822 brand left behind is consistent with S&S's commitment and philosophy in the long term."

Built in 1890, Block Arcade is one of Melbourne’s top shopping and tourist attractions. The architecture here was inspired by the Vittorio art galleries in Milan, impressing visitors with its ornate plasterwork, bronze statues as well as impressive domes. In addition, Collins Street preserves the beauty of the past and present, with heritage houses interspersed among skyscrapers.

The new Bovet 1822 boutique is built with Wallnut veneer, a material that has been used since Pascal Raffy, the brand's owner, took over in 2001. The door handles from the entrance hall are carved with the lotus flower, the brand's symbol since the early days of the House of Bovet. The tables inside the boutique all have the signature S-shaped "cabriole" legs, representing the elegant style of the 18th and 19th centuries, paying tribute to the brand's more than 200 years of history.

The vaulted facade and interior walls evoke the style of the “Chateau de Môtiers”, the 14th-century castle where Bovet 1822 is headquartered in Switzerland. The blue leather of the “Arcades of the Accent” walls and the seats recall the deep blue and turquoise guilloche dials that the brand develops and produces in-house.

The "Fleurisanne" motif is reproduced in the Arade section in the middle of the wall. Appearing since the 17th century, this is one of the ancient carvings that is still preserved and developed by artisans in today's creations.
