Under the glorious banner, the national television broadcast on the evening of August 9, 2025, in Hanoi , Hue, and Ho Chi Minh City, was a harmonious celebration commemorating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd. Thousands of artists participated, combining modern technology to recreate the nation's historical journey, from the silent sacrifices of Uncle Ho's soldiers to the aspiration to build a strong and prosperous country.
Previously, the "Spring of Reunification" program was a profound tribute to the victory of April 30, 1975, bringing together 1,000 artists. In the same spirit, the "North-South Promise" program, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country, featured 800 artists, 12,500 spectators, and performances of traditional music and drama depicting the historical promise. These programs not only held political and cultural value, igniting the spirit of national unity, but also touched the hearts of young people.
Why are these programs so appealing to young people? First, they convey a powerful yet subtle "emotional energy," avoiding empty slogans. The key lies in their storytelling, which is both refined and gentle, guided by cultural, historical, and traditional elements.
In particular, these programs are often broadcast on major holidays and anniversaries, on a formal stage with elaborate staging. The combination of expressive art and modern performance technology, with a top-notch lighting and sound system and the participation of leading artists, creates a multi-layered artistic space where the audience not only watches but also lives through history, emotions, and pride.
Young people are not just passive viewers but also "igniters" through content creation, comments, sharing livestreams, and expressing their emotions at historical stories told in contemporary language. On TikTok, Facebook, and Zalo, clips from the program attract millions of views and comments. Many young people even go directly to the live broadcast locations, wearing red and yellow flag shirts and singing revolutionary songs.
This shows that young people are not indifferent to history, but are readily "conquered" when approached in an engaging and lively way. The programs skillfully blend entertainment, music , and technology with educational content, making historical stories captivating. This clearly demonstrates that, if conveyed correctly, the younger generation will not turn their backs on history but will actively seek to understand and embrace its values as a natural part of their spiritual lives, thereby fostering pride and a sense of responsibility towards their country.
The interest of young people in political and artistic programs is a welcome sign, reflecting patriotism and national pride. Not superficial or forced, but through emotion and understanding, they are continuing to write the epic saga of the nation.
Hopefully, programs like this will continue to receive investment, so that the younger generation will not only be viewers but also become creators of tomorrow's history.
