In the early morning of May 13th, the house of Mr. Tran Viet Anh in Hamlet 6, Ba Trai Commune, Ba Vi District (Hanoi), which collapsed due to heavy rain on the night of May 12th, was still in disarray, with many objects scattered everywhere. The collapsed wall, built of brick and 22cm thick, buried and killed three children who were playing nearby. Regarding the incident where four fishing boats from Quang Binh province sank and lost contact at sea after encountering a whirlwind, on May 13th, the Gianh Port Border Guard Station (Quang Binh Provincial Border Guard) received crew member Nguyen Van Binh (born 1969, Quang Phuc ward, Ba Don town, Quang Binh province), a crew member of the ill-fated vessel QB 98768TS. At noon on May 13th, a serious multi-vehicle accident involving a container truck, a sleeper bus, a truck, and a five-seater car occurred on Provincial Road 741, in Minh Hoa hamlet, Tan Tien commune, Dong Phu district, Binh Phuoc province. The accident resulted in over 10 injuries; including two people in the truck, the bus driver, and several passengers on the bus who sustained serious injuries, and damage to several vehicles. The Brazilian government has just announced an emergency allocation of 12.1 billion real (US$2.34 billion) to deal with the crisis caused by the worst floods in years. On May 13, Mount Ibu in eastern Indonesia erupted again, creating a massive ash plume more than 5 kilometers high from the crater. According to local officials, this was one of the largest volcanic eruptions in recent months. The head of the Geological Survey, Muhammad Wafid, said the dark gray ash plume was observed with "dense intensity, tending to spread westward."
