On September 3, Saigon Co.op supermarket system including Co.opmart, Co.opXtra, Co.op Food… quickly recorded the purchasing power situation in the system during the recent September 2 holiday.

Accordingly, purchasing power at supermarkets and stores in the system has increased significantly compared to normal days, in some places it has increased nearly twice.

In particular, the sales points of Co.opmarts and Co.opXtras located in high-rise apartments and shopping malls have seen a significant increase in the number of customers. The reason is that the supermarkets organize Vietnamese Food Festivals on weekends, attracting a large number of customers who are residents or visitors to the shopping malls for entertainment.

Supermarkets in localities that are tourist destinations of the country such as Co.opmart Quy Nhon, Tam Ky, Can Tho, Nha Trang, Ca Mau… have become shopping destinations for people. When coming here, tourists can buy diverse and abundant local specialties at stable prices.

Besides physical points of sale, the number of online orders received by Vietnamese retailers has also doubled compared to normal days.

"The average value of the shopping basket is from 400,000 - 500,000 VND, focusing on items that are in the promotional category of the Proud of Vietnamese Products program such as: essential fresh foods, dried foods, soft drinks, fruits, cosmetics...", a representative of Saigon Co.op added.

Faced with high purchasing power during the holiday season, staff from Co.opmart, Co.opXtra, Co.op Food… were on duty regularly at the stalls, replenishing goods promptly.

Accordingly, all supermarket staff are mobilized to process online orders and deliver on time within the day, without keeping customers waiting.

Previously, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thang, Deputy General Director of Saigon Co.op, said that the program "35 years of Pride in Vietnamese Goods" opened on the first day of the September 2 holiday, creating favorable conditions for consumers to shop and enjoy the holiday.

To implement the "Pride of Vietnamese Goods" Month this year, Saigon Co.op has invested a large budget to bring Vietnamese goods to the online space including the Co.opOnline website and the Saigon Co.op application on mobile devices, organizing "trend-catching" minigames to receive valuable gifts.

Customers were especially delighted to see the entire supermarket covered in red flag colors through decorations, merchandise displays, staff uniforms... showing national pride on National Day September 2.
