Complications after liposuction surgery at a beauty salon in the heart of District 1

Accordingly, on July 24, the emergency department of Cho Ray Hospital received a patient named NTKN in a state of fatigue, difficulty breathing, and pain in many fatty areas of the body after liposuction surgery at FA Plus Cosmetic Hospital LLC (12 Nguyen Cong Tru, District 1).

Through examination, the patient was diagnosed with cellulitis in the abdomen, chest, and armpits on both sides 3 days after liposuction surgery.

Taking medical history, it was known that patient NTKN had liposuction of the abdomen, hips, arms, and armpits on both sides, and fat grafting on the back of both hands at FA Plus Cosmetic Hospital LLC with a total cost of 95 million VND.

On the second day after liposuction surgery, patient NTKN began to show signs of fatigue, difficulty breathing, pain in many areas of the body and had to be transferred to Cho Ray Hospital for emergency care.

Upon receiving information about this case, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health Inspectorate coordinated with the City Police to inspect FA Plus Aesthetic Clinic Company Limited.

Specifically, the inspection team discovered that the 7-storey building of FA Plus Beauty Salon Company Limited at 12 Nguyen Cong Tru, District 1 had a signboard "Phap A Beauty Salon".

On the second floor of this facility, the inspection team discovered a surgical room and many other medical equipment.

In addition, the team also discovered illegal advertisements on the Facebook page "Phap A Center Aesthetic Institute" with the following contents: meso HA implantation, collagen implantation to remove wrinkles, skin tightening, mesh thread implantation, non-surgical beauty with fillers and botox.

When questioned about the case of NTKN patient who had liposuction at this facility, leading to an accident requiring emergency treatment at Cho Ray Hospital, a representative of FA Plus Cosmetic Hospital LLC said that the person who performed liposuction on the abdomen, hips, arms, armpits and fat grafting on the back of the hand for NTKN patient was Mr. Huynh Thanh Hai and another woman brought along by Mr. Hai.

In addition, this representative also provided information that patient NTKN was Mr. Hai's private client.

FA Plus Cosmetic Hospital LLC only rented the operating room to Mr. Hai for 15 million VND to perform the surgery. And Mr. Hai also brought all the surgical instruments, medicine, and medical equipment himself.

From there, the inspection team asked the company to contact Mr. Huynh Thanh Hai to come to work, but Mr. Hai did not cooperate and did not come to the facility as requested. The company also provided Mr. Huynh Thanh Hai's citizen identification, but could not provide professional qualifications or practice licenses.

With the violations clearly pointed out, the Health Department Inspectorate established administrative violations against FA Plus Beauty Salon Company Limited, whose director is Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Chi.

At the same time, the Department of Health continues to coordinate with the City Police to verify and request Mr. Huynh Thanh Hai to come to the Department of Health Inspectorate to clarify the violations and make a record of administrative violations in accordance with regulations.

Consider transferring the case to the City Police investigation agency if there are signs of evading state management agencies after performing illegal surgery without a practice license.
