Many advantages for development

Lang Biang Ward in Da Lat has a natural area of ​​322.66 km² and a population of 40,041 people, of which ethnic minorities account for over 24%. With its large area, diverse natural and social conditions, and especially a high forest cover rate of nearly 74%, the locality has favorable conditions for the development of services, tourism , high-tech agriculture, urban ecology, and indigenous culture.

Lang Biang Ward in Da Lat has a strong potential for agricultural development, particularly in the application of high-tech agriculture, utilizing methods such as hydroponics, aeroponics, and substrates. The ward has over 10,000 hectares of agricultural land, of which nearly 2,000 hectares are dedicated to high-tech agricultural production. The average annual value of harvested products per hectare is over 716 million VND/ha. The total cultivated area in Lang Biang Ward, Da Lat, is estimated to reach 7,293 hectares by 2025. This includes over 3,000 hectares of vegetables (producing 104,611 tons), 2,197 hectares of flowers (producing nearly 590,000 stems), 143 hectares of strawberries (producing 1,896 tons), and 10 hectares of medicinal herbs and artichokes (producing 2,464 tons). Coffee plantations cover 1,088 hectares, yielding 2,464 tons. Local authorities are focusing on developing the brand "Da Lat - a miraculous essence from fertile land"; at the same time, they are paying attention to supporting value chains in the production, processing, and consumption of agricultural products, finding stable markets for agricultural products, and developing OCOP products…

Lang Biang Ward in Da Lat boasts diverse natural landscapes, especially numerous major tourist attractions that draw large numbers of visitors annually, such as Lang Biang Mountain, Golden Valley, Cu Lan Village, LangBiang Land, Puppy Farm, the Central Highlands Biological Institute, Dinosaur Tropical Garden, and Mushroom Village. Alongside this, the ethnic minority villages at the foot of Lang Biang Mountain have leveraged the unique cultural values ​​of the Central Highlands' gong culture for tourism, particularly through gong performances. Small-scale industries and traditional crafts, as well as local specialties, continue to be maintained and developed, diversifying products such as brocade weaving, household furniture making, handicrafts, and traditional rice wine production.

Maximizing potential and strengths

According to Ms. Tran Thi Chuc Quynh, Secretary of the Party Committee of Lang Biang Ward, Da Lat, the ward has identified its potential and advantages for development in the coming period as high-tech applied agriculture and ecotourism. Specifically, it aims to accelerate economic growth, focusing on agricultural economic development and making tourism a breakthrough. The plan also involves shifting the regional economic structure towards a green and circular economy, linked to a growth model that enhances efficiency based on high technology, digital transformation, and high added value.

To create momentum for development, Lang Biang ward in Da Lat focuses on investing in a synchronous and modern infrastructure system, connecting different areas, developing urban space efficiently and sustainably, and forming dynamic economic zones. From 2020 to the present, localities in Lang Biang ward have invested approximately 533.246 billion VND in infrastructure from the state budget, including the investment in more than 33 rural roads.

In addition, the locality continues to invest in the strong development of education, healthcare, science, technology, and innovation, in a modern direction. At the same time, it enhances the role of culture, preserving and promoting the unique cultural identity of the ethnic communities…
