Tay Ninh is implementing solutions to preserve, conserve and promote the value of relics and culture, creating a unique highlight for tourism to the source, visiting "red addresses" to learn about national history.
Tay Ninh province is aiming to achieve and exceed the plan of 5.5 million visitors to tourist areas and destinations in 2024; striving to make tourism a spearhead economic sector of the province by 2030.
To achieve the above goal, Tay Ninh effectively utilizes its strengths in nature, people, and relics to exploit tourism, especially connecting and developing source tourism products.
Take advantage of the strengths of relics and culture
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tay Ninh province, the province currently has 96 ranked relics including: 1 Special National Relic, 27 National Relics, 68 provincial-level relics distributed in 9 districts, towns and cities. In addition, the province has 8 National Intangible Cultural Heritages recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Tay Ninh is making good use of these strengths to synchronously connect key tourist attractions with a system of cultural and historical relics.
Thanks to that, in the first 9 months of 2024, Tay Ninh tourist areas and spots attracted nearly 4.5 million visitors (up 7.1% over the same period, reaching 81.5% of the plan); total tourism revenue reached VND 2,384 billion (up 41.7% over the same period, reaching 103.7% of the plan).
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tay Ninh province also said that from the beginning of 2024, the provincial tourism industry has created a "springboard" for connecting with provinces and cities in the Southeast region and Ho Chi Minh City by strengthening cooperation in tourism development, signing a cooperation agreement on tourism development for the period 2024-2029 with Saigon Tourist Corporation (Saigontourist Group).
This is considered a great opportunity for Tay Ninh and other localities in the region to promote the exploitation of strengths in specific and typical products; help localities build and develop types of agricultural tourism, river tourism, traditional craft villages, entertainment, culture, etc. to meet the needs of tourists for sightseeing and learning.
At the same time, to enhance tourism promotion, Tay Ninh tourism industry also promotes welcoming Famtrip delegations to survey and connect provincial tourism with provinces and cities across the country.
Through that, a series of "red addresses" of the origin are gradually being promoted more widely to many tourists such as: Cao Dai Tay Ninh Holy See; Linh Son Tien Thach Tu Pagoda (Ba Pagoda) over 300 years old on Ba Den Mountain; Tua Hai Victory Monument; Chot Mat Tower Monument, Special National Monument of the Southern Central Bureau Base...
According to Ms. Tran Thi Huy Hoang, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tay Ninh province, the province's tourism industry continues to maintain the quality of products, services, and reputation, associated with promoting the image and brand of Tay Ninh tourism.
The province has identified many new models such as: experience activities of picking wild vegetables along with making Trang Bang dew-dried rice paper; the art of preparing vegetarian dishes; discovering the traditional incense making process of Tay Ninh incense making; experiencing and learning about historical and cultural relics (communal houses, ancient towers, ancient houses).
Along with that, the province focuses on Khmer cultural experience models such as: Chhay dam drum dance art, Khmer costume performance, viewing documents about life, culture, beliefs, customs, traditional Khmer music, etc.
In 2024, Tay Ninh will also build 26 new tourism programs linking tourism products and services.
Create a unique highlight for tourism
Tay Ninh is implementing solutions to preserve, conserve and promote the value of relics and culture, creating a unique highlight for tourism to the source, visiting "red addresses" to research and learn about national history.
In early October 2024, the province allocated nearly 66 billion VND to renovate and embellish the construction items of the Special National Historical Relic Site of the Southern Central Bureau Base (expected to be completed and put into use before April 30, 2025). The relic site was installed for the first time with a vivid 3D Mapping projection system to recreate historical values instead of the existing visual system.
The Special National Relic Site of the Central Bureau of Southern Vietnam Base is located in the north of Tay Ninh province, close to the Vietnam-Cambodia border, in Tan Lap commune, Tan Bien district, considered the "Resistance Capital" of the South.
The relic site has a total area of nearly 1,400 hectares, including three sub-areas: the Southern Central Bureau Base, the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam Base and the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam Base. This is a typical base area, with great historical, scientific, cultural and military value; it has been recognized as a National Historical and Cultural Relic in Decision No. 839/QD dated August 31, 1990.
Afterwards, the Prime Minister recognized this relic site as a Special National Relic, in Decision No. 548/QD-TTg dated May 10, 2012.
The Southern Central Bureau Base Relic Site has undergone two restorations to preserve and promote its historical value. The Southern Central Bureau was the central agency that directly led the Southern revolution from the early days of the resistance war against the US to save the country until the complete victory and reunification of the country. Rum Duon was the last base of the Southern Central Bureau that the Central Bureau's leadership chose as a place to live and work until the day the South was completely liberated (April 30, 1975).
According to Vice Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Thanh, the province has directed investors, contractors, design consultants and supervisors to comply with regulations on investment and construction procedures, especially ensuring the original status and preservation of the relic; minimizing the impact of the construction site on the Special National Historical Relic Site of the Southern Central Bureau Base. This is one of the key projects of Tay Ninh province to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025)./.
