Tan Quang is a sub-urban agricultural commune with many socio -economic difficulties, low income of people, and unsynchronized infrastructure. However, since the policy of building new rural areas, aiming at upgrading urban areas, upgrading communes to wards, the appearance of this place has improved a lot. Mr. Nguyen The Anh, Chairman of Tan Quang Commune People's Committee shared: The commune focuses on mobilizing resources, prioritizing the completion of planning, investing in expanding urban space, building synchronous infrastructure according to ward standards, focusing on developing the transportation network; promoting economic restructuring, in which priority is given to the development of trade - services, and small-scale industry.
The commune has focused resources on investing in building and upgrading traffic routes and essential infrastructure works such as lighting systems, household electricity, schools, medical stations, water supply and drainage systems, etc.
The total investment value for infrastructure construction in Tan Quang commune in the period of 2021-2023 reached nearly 11 billion VND. Of which, people contributed over 2.9 billion VND, donated nearly 2,000m2 of land and thousands of laborers. Electricity projects are invested in construction and upgrading to meet the needs of the people; at the same time, lighting systems are installed on inter-commune and residential roads, ensuring convenient traffic. The system of schools, medical stations, residential cultural houses and many other essential infrastructure works are upgraded to meet standards.
The locality actively coordinated with all levels and sectors to carry out site clearance for 14 projects, reclaiming nearly 80 hectares of land with a total compensation payment of over 191 billion VND. Typical projects include: Tan Tien Residential Area; Song Cong II Industrial Park; resettlement area of Song Cong II Industrial Park; construction and restoration of Nguyen Van Cu Street; resettlement area connecting the old National Highway 3, Tan Quang Primary and Secondary School, solid waste treatment complex, flood prevention project of the new National Highway 3 according to detailed planning at a scale of 1/500...
Along with that, Tan Quang also focuses on shifting the economic structure and labor structure towards the development of diverse trade, service and handicraft industries. Encourage economic sectors to participate in production and business to increase both quantity and quality. If in 2021, the whole commune had 259 enterprises and service and production and business households, now it has increased to 312 business households, 14 small and micro enterprises; 5 large enterprises have gone into production and 3 enterprises are building and assembling factories in Song Cong II Industrial Park.
In agriculture, the commune encourages people to develop production in the direction of sub-urban agricultural commodities, bringing high-yield and high-quality plants and animals into production such as: The model of a 5-hectare field of J02 rice in Tan Tien hamlet; the Dai Thom 8 rice cooperative with an area of 5 hectares in Dong Tien hamlet; the fruit tree model in Tan My 1, Tan My 2, Bai Lai, Lang Do, Tan Tien, Dong Tien hamlets with a scale of about 30 hectares. The commune has established a fruit tree growing cooperative in Tan My 1, Bai Lai, Lang Do, Tan Tien hamlets with a total area of over 5 hectares... Thanks to the above efforts, the average income per capita in the area is currently 55 million VND/person/year; the poverty rate is 1.01% (13 households); the rate of trained workers is 76.34%...
After more than 3 years of striving to achieve the goal of upgrading from a commune to a ward, Tan Quang has basically completed 17/18 standards for upgrading to a ward such as: Population size, area, revenue and expenditure balance, non-agricultural labor rate, infrastructure, cultural and sports facilities, electricity supply for daily life... Currently, the commune has not yet met the standard of "main drainage line density". According to the Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, the total number of main drainage lines in the commune is 13.77km. After completing the main traffic system in residential and urban area projects, the roads are invested to complete the drainage system, Tan Quang will basically complete this standard...
