In the early days of her assignment, as a young officer with limited practical experience, Ms. Duyen inevitably faced some initial difficulties and uncertainties in mobilizing people to implement population policies.

However, thanks to the attention and support of the local Party committee and government, along with her proactive and receptive attitude towards learning, researching materials, and exchanging experiences with colleagues, she gradually improved her communication skills, meeting the requirements of the assigned tasks.

Not only did she go door-to-door, but Ms. Duyen also proactively coordinated closely with the team of collaborators from the Population, Family and Children Affairs program in each hamlet to understand the circumstances of each household, thereby choosing the appropriate methods of communication. "For cases where people are still hesitant or disagree, I patiently approach them, gently analyze the situation, and offer advice. If I don't succeed with a family the first time, I continue a second and third time," Ms. Duyen shared.

That dedication has earned the trust of the people. Ms. Thi Tuyen (residing in Binh Thanh 3 hamlet, Thuan My commune) said: “Thanks to Ms. Duyen's approachable, persistent efforts and easy-to-understand advice, tailored to our family's circumstances, my husband and I have clearly understood the benefits of having two children. This has allowed us to confidently implement the population policy and provide for the lives and futures of our children.”

According to Ms. Duyen, the greatest joy for those working in reproductive health at the grassroots level is being understood and trusted by the people. This encourages them to proactively seek advice on reproductive health care.

Currently, the percentage of married women aged 15-49 who have given birth to two children in the commune is 57.18%; the sex ratio at birth is 115.56%. In addition, the percentage of people using modern contraceptive methods annually reaches 87.4%.

With her enthusiasm, perseverance, and dedication, the quiet contributions of Population and Family Planning officer Le Thi Hoang Duyen have been helping to improve the quality of the population and gradually enhance the lives of local people.
