Thailand's Forward Party came first in the election, but its leader Pita Limjaroenrat failed to form a new government, leaving the chance to Srettha's Pheu Thai Party.
Mr. Srettha earned a degree in economics and management in the United States. In 1990, together with some cousins, he founded Sansiri, which later became Thailand’s largest real estate company. He only recently entered politics.
