Strengthening the work of preventing and combating child drowning

The Provincial People's Committee has just issued Directive No. 8/CT-UBND dated May 23, 2025 on Strengthening the prevention of child drowning in the province.

Accordingly, to effectively implement the work of preventing and combating child drowning, the Provincial People's Committee assigned provincial departments, branches, unions and localities to implement the program to strengthen the work of preventing and combating drowning for students in the period of 2025 - 2035; Swimming program, preventing and combating child drowning in the period of 2021 - 2030; Plan No. 11017/KH-UBND dated November 9, 2021 of the Provincial People's Committee on implementing the Program to prevent and combat child accidents and injuries in Dak Lak province in the period of 2021 - 2030; strengthen solutions, focusing on the work of preventing and combating drowning for children.

Students of Vo Thi Sau Primary School, Cu M'gar district, participate ineducational activities on drowning prevention at school.

At the same time, the Department of Health is requested to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to implement the model of "Safe house, preventing child injuries", "Child-friendly communes, wards and towns"; "Safe community, preventing injuries"; guide medical examination and treatment facilities in providing first aid, emergency care, treatment and emergency transportation for drowning children...

The Department of Education and Training presides over and coordinates with departments, branches and localities to guide the dissemination of knowledge and skills on drowning prevention to each school, class and student; improve teachers' capacity on drowning prevention and teaching safe swimming in schools...

Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Provincial Youth Union; Provincial Women's Union; Provincial Farmers' Association; People's Committees of districts, towns and cities coordinate and integrate the content of preventing and combating drowning accidents in children into the activities of organizations and units; raise social awareness of the necessity of learning to swim, drowning rescue, and knowledge of safety in the water environment...
