
On November 26-27, the Department of Culture of Vietnam's Ethnic Groups coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho city to organize a training course to improve the capacity to inspect, monitor and evaluate the implementation of Project 6 under the National Target Program on Socio -Economic Development of Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas (Program 1719).
The training course gathered nearly 170 trainees from southern provinces and cities such as Khanh Hoa, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City, An Giang, Ca Mau, Can Tho, Dong Thap and Vinh Long - localities with a large population of ethnic minorities.
Speaking at the program, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups Nguyen Thi Hai Nhung said that the training course aims to equip the management staff with knowledge, skills and professional methods in the work of inspecting, monitoring and evaluating the implementation of Project 6. Thereby, contributing to ensuring the project implementation is on target, on schedule, public and transparent; at the same time, enhancing coordination and sharing of experiences between central and local agencies in the process of implementing Program 1719.
The training contents focused on the overview of Project 6, the system of objectives, tasks, and results to be achieved; state management of ethnic culture; preservation and promotion of traditional cultural values in ethnic minority and mountainous areas associated with sustainable tourism development; inspection, monitoring and evaluation processes and methods; the system of criteria, evaluation indexes and reporting instructions according to regulations. In addition, trainees exchanged practical experiences from localities, identified difficulties and problems and proposed solutions during the implementation process.
Right after the opening ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang (Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture) shared her experience in preserving and promoting the value of "living" heritage in ethnic minority communities associated with tourism development, contributing to creating livelihoods and improving people's lives.
The training course is a practical activity, contributing to strengthening the capacity of grassroots staff, promoting the preservation of traditional culture and effectively exploiting cultural values in tourism development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
