In addition to increasing machinery and human resources, contractors of the Dong Dang - Tra Linh Expressway Project are working day and night, through holidays and Tet to complete the project. 568 Construction Investment Group Joint Stock Company was assigned to construct about 55 km/93.3 km in length and 22/38 bridges on the entire Dong Dang - Tra Linh Expressway Phase 1 through the two provinces of Cao Bang and Lang Son. With a large volume of work, the unit has established a Command Board and many Construction Command Boards at the construction site. Currently, the unit has mobilized 1,396 personnel and nearly 600 pieces of equipment, including 150 excavators; 95 rollers; 40 bulldozers; 231 specialized vehicles and 64 other vehicles, machinery and equipment. Simultaneously organizing 52 construction teams, including: 10 road foundation construction teams, 24 culvert and underpass construction teams, 5 bridge construction teams, 9 rock drilling and blasting teams, 3 grinding stations, 3 concrete stations; 1 centrifugal culvert casting station and 1 manual station. Thanks to proactively implementing many solutions to speed up progress, despite construction on the most complex terrain among current expressways, many packages still adhere to the schedule, and some construction teams even exceed the set plan.
At the construction site of the section from km56+00 to km61+910 through Na Tuc hamlet, Duc Xuan commune (Thach An), vehicles, machines, specialized equipment and workers are being mobilized to the maximum, breaking rocks, digging, filling, and creating roadbed. This section is one of the first sections to complete 2 layers of crushed stone, the roadbed is gradually appearing, the construction progress is meeting and exceeding the set plan.
Mr. Tran Dang Khoa, Commander of section km56 - km61+910, 568 Construction Investment Group Joint Stock Company said: The section we are implementing is from km56+00 to km61+910 and IC04 intersection. We are currently mobilizing 8 excavators, 14 trucks, 10 rollers, and 4 bulldozers. In this section, the unit has also constructed a crushed stone layer from 57+600 - 58+900, and has completed the second layer. According to the plan, in May, this section will continue to produce the entire surface foundation and crushed stone layer. Currently, the unit has mobilized human resources to work continuously, day and night shifts using 100% of human resources to ensure the assigned plan.
The Km79+250 bridge location across the Bang River is the area with the most difficult terrain with a unique, rugged approach road, many deep ravines, and bends, making it difficult to access the construction site, and the transportation of materials and equipment is also particularly difficult. Identifying this as an item on the project's progress critical path, Deo Ca Group directly undertook and organized the opening of a service road of more than 6 km on each side to access the project. At the same time, the organization deployed 2 construction fronts at both ends, aiming to complete the two P2 and P3 bridge piers (located under the riverbed) before the flood season. The completion of the temporary bridge before May 15, 2025 to transport and coordinate the utilization of about 700,000 m3 of excavated soil for the final sections of the route has also been set.
The Dong Dang - Tra Linh Expressway project passes through Lang Son and Cao Bang provinces with a total length of 121 km, divided into 2 investment phases. Phase 1 is over 93.35 km long, with a roadbed of 17 m. Phase 2 of the project will expand the entire 93.35 km of phase 1, and at the same time build a new 27.71 km of expressway connecting to Tra Linh border gate.
The pressure on the project's progress is increasing as the construction time is reduced from 36 months to 24 months under the direction of the Government . To achieve the goal of opening the route in 2025, the construction time is now only more than 8 months, the consortium of investors and contractors consider this as an acceleration phase, focusing on machinery and construction workers day and night to speed up the progress while still ensuring the quality of the project.
According to Mr. Tran Chung Tuan, Deputy General Director of 568 Construction Investment Group Joint Stock Company, the goal for 2025 is to open the route on a layer of asphalt concrete. The Group's Board of Directors has requested professional departments, executive boards and subordinate command boards to establish detailed level 4 schedules. Based on these schedules, financial, human resources and equipment plans are developed suitable for each stage. Up to now, the Group's financial resources have been completely proactive, and more than 1,300 people have been mobilized to participate in the project, with nearly 600 vehicles and equipment.
Currently, the project's hard works such as bridges, culverts and tunnels are on schedule. The roadbed will be basically completed by the end of this year to open the entire route to traffic. The shape of the province's strategic traffic route is gradually becoming clearer, demonstrating the synchronous participation of the entire political system, the consensus of the people and the tireless construction efforts of investors and contractors. Accelerating the progress of the national key traffic project, the Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway, is expected to help the target of completing 3,000 km of expressway by the end of this year exceed by about 10%. In addition, the early completion of infrastructure will not only contribute to completing the task of disbursing public investment capital, but also form new development axes, supporting the growth target of 8% or more this year.
Under time pressure, contractors are forced to recruit more workers, while attracting drivers and machine operators to work the night shift at the project is not easy. In order to solve the labor problem for contractors, Deo Ca Group - the representative of the project investor consortium, has worked with Central Transport College 1 and Central College 4 to supplement the source of drivers and machine operators from these training facilities for construction units. Currently, on the entire Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway, the project enterprise and contractors have mobilized more than 3,000 workers and 1,291 machines and equipment, simultaneously implementing the construction of roadbed excavation, overpasses, tunnels and drainage culverts. The construction output to date has reached 2,409/10,438 billion VND (equivalent to 23% of the contract value).
The authorities of the two provinces of Lang Son and Cao Bang have issued many drastic instructions, giving maximum priority to site clearance and capital disbursement. To date, contractors have been handed over 93.14/93.35 km (reaching 99%). Identifying the Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway as the "front" and key training ground, investors and contractors are concentrating all resources, opening additional construction sites to open the project in 2025 under the direction of the Prime Minister, meeting the expectations of the people and being ready to start the second phase of the project on September 2.
