Building consensus from the grassroots

The Ninh Kieu Ward Party Committee recently held a meeting and exchange with branch secretaries, neighborhood leaders, heads of the Fatherland Front working committees, and heads of various associations and organizations in the ward. This forum served as a platform for meeting, exchanging ideas, and listening to feedback from grassroots officials, enabling ward leaders to promptly address difficulties and obstacles, thereby enhancing leadership capacity and the effectiveness of state management. Simultaneously, it promoted democracy and the role of the Fatherland Front and other political and social organizations in social supervision and criticism, and contributed to building a strong Party and government.

At the conference, local officials frankly exchanged views and made recommendations to local leaders on many issues related to Party building and socio -economic development. Regarding the recruitment of new Party members, Mr. Le Trong Phi, Secretary of the Party Branch and Head of Area 15, suggested that the Ward Party Committee assign specific targets for the Party branches to strive for, and at the same time promptly reward those collectives that perform well.

Many local officials suggested that when assigning targets for admitting new party members, it should be in line with the realities of each party branch. According to Ms. Nguyen Minh Phuong, Secretary of Party Branch and Head of Area 29, the area's party branch faces many difficulties in recruiting new party members because the youth union members are students under the management of school party organizations, while the local officials are older, making it difficult to cultivate and develop potential party members.

In leadership and management, the area's officials suggested that official documents, plans, meeting invitations, etc., should be sent to the Party branch at least one day in advance to allow officials time to prepare and ensure the content and attendance of the meeting. Ms. Bui Thi Lan Huong, Secretary of the Party Branch and Head of Area 24, suggested that the Party Committee and the People's Committee of the ward organize monthly briefing meetings with the Party branch and the people's committee of the area to direct specific tasks, as well as to promptly exchange and respond to opinions and suggestions from Party members and the people.

Regarding state management, local officials suggested that ward leaders implement effective solutions for managing and utilizing public land. Many local officials also requested that ward leaders strengthen management, take measures to beautify the embankment along the Hau River to improve urban aesthetics; upgrade facilities around Xang Thoi Lake; and strictly handle cases of littering, allowing livestock to defecate on the streets, and other issues that endanger residents in the area...

Representatives from the Party Committee, People's Committee, and specialized departments of the ward received and addressed the issues raised by grassroots officials, clarifying some of their suggestions. They also provided guidance to ensure effective leadership by Party committees and authorities at all levels, contributing to the successful fulfillment of assigned tasks and promoting local development.

The conference provides a space for grassroots officials to exercise their ownership rights and contribute to building a strong Party and government. Through this activity, ward leaders can promptly understand the concerns of the people, address their difficulties, and provide practical guidance and direction. Following the conference, the Ward Party Committee and People's Committee strengthen the inspection and supervision of the resolution of requests from local officials, while also supporting and assisting grassroots officials in successfully carrying out their political tasks.
