Kova Nano International Paint Company Limited and Shinec Joint Stock Company signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement. |
Hello Mr. Ngo Sy Tuyen, can you share a little about the history of the formation of Kova Paint Group?
Kova Paint Group was founded by Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Hoe, a passionate scientist . Starting from a small laboratory at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology in the early 1990s, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Hoe and her colleagues worked hard to research water-based paint - a very new direction at that time.
In 1993, the Kova brand was officially launched. From the beginning, Kova chose to apply Nano silica technology to create paint lines with outstanding features: Waterproof, fireproof, antibacterial, long-lasting color and environmentally friendly.
After more than three decades, from the original laboratory, Kova has grown into an international corporation, with factories and research centers in many countries such as Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, and we have just applied for a license to establish a company and build a factory in Bangladesh.

In your development journey, which milestone makes you feel most proud?
A historical milestone is the World Nano Council granting Kova the first 9 types of Nano paint in the world. This is a source of pride not only for the company but also for Vietnamese science.
Specifically, the 9 types of Nano paint include: Kova Nano waterproof paint (CT-11A, CT-16); Antibacterial Nano exterior paint; Antibacterial - antiviral Nano interior paint; Nano fireproof paint; Nano metal coating paint; Epoxy Nano floor paint; Nano traffic paint (road marking paint); Nano paint for ships, anti-fouling; Self-cleaning Nano paint.
How are these products different from traditional paints, sir?
Some outstanding points can be clearly seen: Water-based, non-toxic: different from traditional solvent paint, Nano Kova is completely safe for health and environmentally friendly.
Long life: Color fastness from 10-15 years, while normal paint usually only lasts 3-5 years.
Waterproof, fireproof: Creates a super durable protective film, reduces the risk of fire and explosion, making the project safer.
Antibacterial, antiviral: Suitable for public spaces, hospitals, schools, which traditional paint cannot meet.
Self-cleaning: The micro-silica nano-coated surface makes dirt easily washed away, reducing maintenance costs.
Long-term economic efficiency: Long product life cycle, reduced repair and maintenance costs.
It can be affirmed that these are technologies that pave the way for the trend of green production and green products, accompanying Vietnam's Net Zero goal by 2050. "Nano paint not only protects buildings, but also protects human health and the planet".
It is known that Kova is also researching new materials for green construction?
Yes, we are focusing on Nano Aerogel - a super-light material with the ability to insulate, waterproof, restore surfaces and self-clean. This is the material of the future, promising wide application in green construction and sustainable industry.

What business philosophy has helped Kova maintain its position for over 30 years?
Those are three core values: Honesty - Creativity - Responsibility.
Honesty in research and products, innovation to always be a pioneer and responsibility to the community and environment. This is the guiding principle for Kova to develop sustainably and build trust in the most demanding markets.
According to you, in the era of national integration and growth, how is the role of Vietnamese private enterprises demonstrated?
Private enterprises are the driving force of the economy. We must dare to innovate, dare to compete and consider the development of enterprises to be closely linked to the development of the nation.
I believe that if we stick to the path of innovation and green development, Vietnamese private enterprises can absolutely become pillars in the economy and reliable global partners.
On the occasion of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs Day October 13, what message do you want to send to the business community?
I hope that Vietnamese entrepreneurs will pioneer in four directions:
Green Economy: Developing environmentally friendly products and services, in line with the goal of Net Zero by 2050.
Circular economy: Optimizing resources, recycling, and regeneration to minimize emissions.
Digital Economy: Applying technology, big data and AI to improve productivity and management efficiency.
Sustainable development: Putting the interests of the community and future generations alongside business interests.
If we can do this, I believe that Vietnamese businesses will not only grow domestically but also contribute to the journey of global sustainable development.
Thank you very much for sharing about the journey of creating Kova nano paint on the world paint industry map!
