Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Tran Dinh Thanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Representative of UNESCO experts in Vietnam; Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hiep - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien province and students.
Participating in the training, fostering and coaching classes, students will study and learn a number of topics such as: Guidelines for assessing heritage impacts in the context of world heritage; Local experience in responding to natural disasters to protect heritage - Case studies from Vietnam; Dissemination of new regulations on historical - cultural relics and landscapes in the Law on Cultural Heritage 2024; Evaluation of cooperation and completion of post-disaster heritage assessment tools: for cultural and natural heritage: Addressing challenges in data collection, refining field-specific templates and building discussions on lessons learned; Dissemination of Decree No. 208/ND-CP dated July 17, 2025 of the Government regulating the authority, order, procedures, records for establishing, appraising and approving archaeological planning; planning, projects for preserving, repairing and restoring historical - cultural relics and landscapes; Investment projects for construction, construction of works, repair, renovation, construction of individual houses located inside and outside protected areas of historical - cultural relics, scenic spots, world heritages; investment projects for construction, renovation, upgrading of technical infrastructure works and exhibition of public museums;...
The course was held for 4 days (from September 11 to 14) with over 150 participants including: Representatives of the UNESCO Office in Hanoi; representatives of museums, relics, and research institutes under the Ministry; Department of Cultural Heritage/Cultural Management, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Department of Culture and Sports of provinces and centrally run cities; Museums, Monument Management Boards/Centers nationwide; Representatives of relevant organizations and units... Through training sessions to improve the quality of human resources for staff of World Heritage Management Boards/Centers in terms of professional knowledge, skills and implementation of activities to protect and promote the values of World Cultural and Natural Heritage in Vietnam according to the World Heritage Convention. At the same time, share experiences in managing, protecting and promoting the values of World Heritage in Vietnam according to the World Heritage Convention. Create conditions for civil servants and public employees directly involved in world heritage management to exchange experiences, enhance coordination and close connection in professional and technical work.
