Harvesting the 2025 Summer-Autumn rice crop in Vinh Chau commune.
Local authorities continue to pay close attention to and strictly direct agricultural production; the transfer of scientific and technical knowledge is strengthened, and people are advised to sow according to the seasonal schedule and regularly inspect their fields. As a result, in the first six months of 2025, the agricultural sector achieved certain results, with Sector I estimated to increase by 4.55% compared to the same period last year.
Based on that, the province has set a target of achieving a rice production of 3,770,000 tons in 2025, with high-quality rice accounting for 70% of the total production.
To realize the above objectives, the Department of Agriculture and Environment continues to restructure the crop production sector towards increasing added value and sustainable development; building and implementing plans for rational and effective crop structure transformation. It will strengthen the dissemination of information, guidance, and technology transfer to farmers, especially the application of advanced techniques and good production practices, and continue to focus on promoting the rapid and widespread application of high-quality crop varieties and effective production models.
In addition, the Department closely monitors and provides timely information on diseases, weather, climate, and hydrology, especially tracking the development of pests and diseases on crops, and promptly notifying farmers through various media channels so that they can proactively manage production and effectively control pests and diseases; it continues to recommend a concentrated and simultaneous rice planting schedule to avoid pests and prevent the emergence of harmful organisms affecting rice production.
At the same time, the Department is strengthening the management of planting area codes and packaging warehouse codes; guiding businesses and cooperatives on regulations and technical barriers of export markets; and procedures for preliminary processing, processing, and preservation of agricultural products to ensure food safety and meet the requirements for agricultural exports, especially to large and demanding markets.
In addition, the Department continues to support the development of cooperatives and cooperative groups to enhance their capacity to proactively link output consumption, sign production linkage contracts, etc.
