In the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, innovation and technology transfer are increasingly playing a key role in enhancing competitiveness, promoting socio -economic development, as well as affirming the pioneering role of higher education institutions in the national innovation ecosystem. Modern universities, in addition to training and research tasks, need to become the driving force for promoting technology application, knowledge development and supporting innovative enterprises.
Dr. Tran Trong Dao - President of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) hopes that the Center for Scientific Innovation and Technology Transfer (CITT) will connect research groups, specialized departments with businesses and localities, promote the commercialization of scientific research results, incubate innovative ideas and contribute to building a startup ecosystem throughout the university. According to Dr. Tran Trong Dao, this is a step in response to and a concrete activity to realize the spirit of Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo , affirming that developing science, technology and innovation is the fastest and most sustainable way to bring the country to prosperity.

Previously, in April 2025, Ton Duc Thang University established 4 strong research groups, bringing the total number of strong research groups at TDTU to 9, gathering prestigious scientists with outstanding research capacity, led by leading professors, associate professors, and doctors; focusing on key research directions, serving the country's strategic technology sectors. In addition, the University has established the Office of the Institute of Advanced Technology in Hanoi; marking a new step in expanding the scope of scientific research and training activities, attracting high-quality human resources nationwide.
The establishment of the CITT Center is the next strategic step to turn TDTU into a globally competitive research university, while contributing to promoting the transformation of the growth model based on knowledge and innovation in Vietnam.

A representative of Ton Duc Thang University shared that CITT will be the focal point for organizing, promoting and coordinating activities related to applied research, technology development, connecting experts and businesses, transferring knowledge, supporting creative startups and forming scientific and technological products to serve the community. The center will also make an important contribution to the university's strategy of building an innovation ecosystem, developing research and development (R&D) capacity, and strengthening the connection between the university - businesses - the state - society.

The CITT Center was established in the context of the Party, State and Government strongly promoting the role of higher education institutions in the national innovation ecosystem. This establishment contributes to concretizing major policies, such as: Strategy for science, technology and innovation development to 2030 (Decision No. 569/QD-TTg), Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW (2024), Resolution No. 193/2025/QH15, along with legal regulations and projects related to technology transfer, innovative startups and intellectual property.
With a flexible operating model, linked to practical needs and the orientation of developing a research university, the Center is expected to become an effective connection between university intelligence and the market, while contributing to affirming TDTU's pioneering role in developing science and technology associated with national innovation.
