On the morning of September 23, in Hanoi, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha attended and spoke at the conference "Innovation in Education and Technology Armenia-Vietnam."

The conference was jointly organized by the National Innovation Center, the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Vietnam, the TUMO Center for Innovative Technology (TUMO) and The Sentry.

The conference was organized to strengthen cooperation between Vietnam and Armenia in strategic areas such as education, technology and innovation; promote the development of high-quality human resources through sharing experiences and innovation initiatives; build a sustainable common ecosystem in education and technology between the two countries; facilitate the sharing of knowledge, experience and best practices, thereby opening up cooperation possibilities such as academic exchanges, building joint training programs and promoting cross-border technology projects.

According to Armenian Ambassador to Vietnam Suren Bagdasaryan, over the past decade, Armenian-Vietnam relations have grown stronger through high-level visits and parliamentary exchanges, bringing the partnership to new heights.

Recalling the visit to Armenia of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man in April 2025 and introducing the activities of TUMO, Ambassador Suren Bagdasaryan said that TUMO is headquartered in the capital Yerevan, Armenia; it is a center for technology and AI education for youth aged 12-18.

The center has supported thousands of students around the world to understand and develop their passion for technology. The establishment of centers operating under the TUMO model in Vietnam marks a new milestone, expanding cooperation not only between the Government but also between educational institutions and businesses of the two countries, and will become a symbol of the strong friendship between Armenia and Vietnam.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha affirmed the long-standing, loyal and close traditional relationship between Vietnam and Armenia, founded by President Ho Chi Minh with deep affection between two peoples with a history of heroic struggle, rich in creative traditions and aspirations for development.

Once relying on natural resource exploitation for development, Armenia has now rapidly transformed into a knowledge-based economy, driven by technology, innovation, green transformation and digital transformation. This is valuable experience for Vietnam in its new development phase.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that Vietnam has a full political foundation for development based on science, technology and innovation, in which knowledge and people are new resources.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that Resolution 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development has set many major goals for building and training human resources, especially high-quality human resources, to meet the requirements of Vietnam becoming a developing country with modern industry and high average income.

Among them, the role of innovation centers is not only to be a place for research and development for businesses, but also to become an open space for students and teenagers from 12 to 18 years old.

Here, children can “learn while playing, play while learning,” access knowledge, and nurture their passion for creativity without being limited by age or traditional curriculum.

Appreciating the cooperation proposals made at the conference, the Deputy Prime Minister said that Vietnam needs to quickly implement them without delay in order to form an effective cooperation mechanism on technology education and innovation.

The TUMO model has more than 20 centers on continents and Vietnam is expected to become an important destination, "a step to Vietnamize, Asianize, Southeast Asiaize modern educational methods, gradually replacing old approaches."

“Education will be a pioneer in innovation, creating the foundation for digital government, digital economy, digital society and further, the digital world,” the Deputy Prime Minister affirmed, hoping that TUMO will open up a new space for Vietnamese students and youth to connect research with practice, equipping them with solid skills and knowledge to enter future careers.

Emphasizing that the success of models like TUMO requires close coordination between the State, businesses and universities, the Deputy Prime Minister asked international partner organizations to support Vietnam in shaping public-private partnership policies, the role of the State as well as financial and legal mechanisms to maintain sustainability.

In addition, innovation centers, universities and businesses need to contribute to training human resources for high-tech industries, from semiconductor chips, digital technology, defense industry to aerospace.

Earlier, on the same morning, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha had a meeting and discussion with the Armenian Ambassador to Vietnam. Here, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha highly appreciated the Armenian side's commitment to realizing the idea, coming directly to Vietnam to discuss the TUMO model with a new method of imparting knowledge, focusing on specific target groups and making a difference.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the biggest challenge does not lie in facilities or funding (which can be mobilized from many sources, including the state budget and the private sector), but in the knowledge factor. The most important and valuable is the knowledge from those who design the educational model.

The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam has the ability to attract attention from the private sector in the education sector. When the TUMO model proves effective, it should be replicated in many flexible forms such as “TUMO box” or “TUMO container” to bring knowledge to remote areas./.
