After the reorganization, our country will have 34 provinces and cities. The new administrative units are expected to start operating from July 1, 2025.

On June 12, the National Assembly officially passed the National Assembly Resolution on the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units in 2025.

Accordingly, from today (June 12), the country has 34 provincial-level administrative units (UDs), including 06 centrally-run cities and 28 provinces. Of these, 23 UDs were newly formed after the rearrangement.

After the Resolution is passed, localities will carry out handover work, prepare necessary conditions, and ensure that local governments in administrative units formed after the rearrangement can soon officially start operating according to the Central's general plan (possibly from July 1, 2025).
