After losing to Djokovic in the Roland Garros semi-finals, the young Spanish tennis player Alcaraz lost the world number one position to his opponent. However, this defeat is said to be a psychological loss leading to a cramp injury. After this shocking defeat, Alcaraz has prepared himself mentally for the top matches. At the London Open, Alcaraz is showing great form and will return to the world number one position if he wins this tournament.

Alcaraz showed his superiority when facing Jiri Lehecka in round 2 of Queen's Club Championship

After a hard-fought first-round win at the Queen's Club Championships, many are concerned about the form of top seed Carlos Alcaraz. In the second round, the Spaniard will face Jiri Lehecka, the Czech who beat Davidovich Fokina in the previous round.

Set 1 started quite tensely, especially in game 2. After 3 missed chances, Alcaraz finally got the first break point. The Spaniard missed another break chance in game 4. However, Alcaraz took advantage of the opportunity in game 8 to end the first set with a score of 6-2.

Set 2 started with a similar scenario to set 1. Alcaraz broke in the second game and quickly took a 3-1 lead. Lehecka tried to pull the match back and had a break opportunity in game 5 but was unable to take advantage.

Overcoming the difficult moment, Alcaraz played much better and had 2 more chances to win break games 6 and 8 but failed. However, the Spaniard still did well in the service games to end the second set with a score of 6-3, thereby winning 2-0 against Lehecka and reaching the quarterfinals.

Grigor Dimitrov defeated Francisco Cerundolo 6-3 7-5 to advance to the Queen's Championship quarter-finals against Carlos Alcaraz. Cerundolo tried his best but was broken in the crucial eighth game of the first set, which cost him the set shortly afterwards. In the second set, the Argentine was down 0-40 in the 11th game but could only save two break points, paving the way for Dimitrov to close out the match after 1 hour and 29 minutes.

In terms of form and class, Alcaraz is superior to Dimitrov. If he plays at his best, Alcaraz can completely surpass Dimitrov to win the right to play in the semi-finals.
In the quarterfinals, Alcaraz will meet Grigor Dimitrov - the player who reached the semifinals of Wimbledon 2014.

"I'm very happy to be in the quarter-finals for the first time at Queen's," Alcaraz said after the win over Lehecka. "After playing at this level, in this tournament, the expectations and confidence are higher."

Rublev booked his place in the quarter-finals at the Halle Open after defeating Yannick Hanfmann 7-6 (5) 6-3, thereby avenging his defeat to Hanfmann in the fourth round of the Rome Open. Hanfmann led 5-3 in the first set tie-break but was beaten by Rublev who won four consecutive points, and in the second set Rublev stormed to a 4-0 lead before finishing the match after 1 hour and 39 minutes.

Sinner makes a classy comeback against Sonego

Although Sonego was rated lower than Sinner in the second round of Halle Open 2023, he still brought an extremely impressive performance. That was shown right in the first set when Sonego won when both entered the tie-break series.

But at the most difficult moment, Sinner showed his high level. He came back in the next 2 sets and won 6-4. The victory after nearly 3 hours of competition helped Sinner pass the 2nd round of Halle Open.
