Ban Gioc Waterfall (Cao Bang province) is on the list of 21 most beautiful waterfalls in the world in 2024 voted by the prestigious American travel magazine Travel + Leisure.
According to the Information Center (Vietnam National Administration of Tourism ), Travel+Leisure International Travel Magazine has just announced a list of 21 most beautiful waterfalls in the world. Ban Gioc Waterfall ranked 17th, the only representative of Vietnam on the list announced in mid-May 2024.
In 2021, Ban Gioc was also named by this magazine in the list of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world.
Located on the Vietnam - China border, Ban Gioc waterfall is in Dam Thuy commune, Trung Khanh district, Cao Bang province.
With a height of over 60 m and the longest slope of 30 m, Ban Gioc waterfall is known as one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Vietnam, the largest natural waterfall in Southeast Asia and the fourth largest border waterfall in the world.
Surrounding Ban Gioc waterfall is a beautiful natural landscape, fresh and cool air with green grass, primeval forests and diverse and rich flora and fauna ecosystems.
Travel+Leisure describes the waterfall, which straddles the Vietnam-China border, as displaying the majestic beauty and power of the water flowing endlessly through the layers and cliffs into the lakes below. Hiking to admire the natural landscape here is a worthy experience. September and October are the ideal time to explore the waterfall. "It is difficult to explain why the waterfall is so enchanting," the magazine said.
From Ban Gioc waterfall, tourists can visit many more famous tourist attractions of Cao Bang such as Nguom Ngao cave, Pac Bo relic site, and Phat Tich Truc Lam Ban Gioc pagoda.
Topping the 2024 list is Victoria Falls in southern Africa, followed by Havasu Falls in Arizona, USA. Other famous waterfalls include Angel Falls in Venezuela and Dudhsagar Falls in India.
