From the center of Phan Dung mountainous commune, it took us more than two hours to reach Yavly waterfall by motorbike, because of the rocky road, dense forest, and 11 large and small streams. However, the motorbike could only go 14 kilometers, and for the last 3 kilometers we had to walk on a small, rocky forest road.
We had not seen the waterfall yet, but the sound of the rushing water made us even more eager to see it. The closer we got, the more the forest seemed to be covered in mist due to the water flying out from the waterfall. Only when we saw the Yavly waterfall with our own eyes could we see its magnificence. Yavly is located deep in the Ta Hoang ravine of the Phan Dung forest area. The top of the waterfall is where two small streams meet, so in addition to the name Yavly, it is also called Thac Cap and here, whether it is rainy or dry season, water still flows down regularly, the tiny drops of water fly and cover the whole area, so some locals call it the very rustic name Thac Bay. The height of the waterfall is estimated at 100 m above the foot of the waterfall and more than 1,500 m above sea level.
The first time we saw the waterfall, we all had the same thought: Yavly is like a graceful young woman in the middle of the Ta Hoang mountains and forests. The flying water droplets are like a layer of mist, shimmering, mysterious and attractive. It is known that in the tourism development plan of Tuy Phong district in the coming years, there is a program to bring tourists to explore this mysterious Yavly waterfall.
