The 7-member girl group Baby Monster (including Rami, Asa, Ruka, Ahyeon, Pharita, Chiquita, Rora) is preparing to return with the digital single "Forever" at 0:00 on July 1 (Korean time).
Recently, YG Entertainment released the first images of the members, revealing part of the look and style that the group will pursue in this MV.
YG posted a poster designed in the style of a fashion magazine. The 7 members appeared with a luxurious and sexy image, as if they were attending a party. The advantages of beauty and body make the members of Baby Monster look confident and radiant.
However, YG's poster design this time received mixed opinions.
On Instiz, a popular post stated: "I know YG has their own aesthetic taste, but this is a bit too serious. I have to look at it again because I can't believe this is an official poster."
Under the post, many viewers said that the Baby Monster members are very beautiful but the poster design is "outdated", "rustic", like images from the time of 2nd generation groups like SNSD, 2NE1.
Many people even commented that if it wasn't posted on Baby Monster's official account, they would think this was just a simple product made by fans.
Some notable comments: “Can YG go and learn about the current idol industry?”, “This company is still the same?”, “Seriously, I’ve been saying this for a long time, please buy some other fonts?”, “I guess YG thinks this is creative,” “2NE1 looked better. It wasn’t this bad before, what’s wrong with YG?”…
Baby Monster is a group that the public has been expecting since before their debut, when they have a lineup of 7 members with all bright faces, beauty and talent.
However, during the debut with the MV "Batter Up", the music color, image building style, and even YG Entertainment's slow promotion made Baby Monster fade into the public eye.
It wasn't until April of this year, when Ahyeon returned and YG promoted the group's debut mini album more actively, that Baby Monster had a chance to rise.
Previously, fans of the senior group Blackpink have repeatedly expressed disappointment with YG's lack of creative promotional activities and image investment for the group.
