The mark left by the 6th Regiment
As is customary, at the beginning of each year, Regiment 6, in coordination with various levels and sectors, organizes and carries out the "Field exercise combined with civilian outreach work" in difficult areas and ethnic minority regions. We had the opportunity to participate with the team in activities in Hong Thai and Hong Bac communes (A Luoi district).
Here, more than 100 officers and soldiers, in coordination with the people of the two communes, carried out repairs to houses and community cultural centers; cleared irrigation canals; cleaned and sanitized village roads and alleys; participated in building welfare models and projects; organized health check-ups, consultations, and provided free medicine; visited, gave gifts, and donated breeding pigs to policy beneficiary families, families with meritorious service to the country, and poor households in the area…
During their 15-day stay in two border communes, Regiment 6 effectively coordinated propaganda and mobilization efforts among the local population. Simultaneously, they strengthened military-civilian solidarity, fostered the responsibility of local Party committees, authorities, and the people in coordinating and participating in grassroots mobilization efforts with military units; implemented social welfare policies, contributing to building and consolidating public support, and maintaining political security and social order along the border. Regiment 6's "Field exercise combined with civilian outreach" left a strong positive impression and fostered goodwill among the local people and authorities.
Lieutenant Colonel Ta Van Tu, Political Commissar of Regiment 6, shared: Identifying the mass mobilization campaign as an important political task contributing to building a solid "people's support base" and consolidating the solidarity between the military and the people, the Party committees and commanders at all levels have concretized this into resolutions, proposing appropriate, effective, and appropriate leadership policies and measures. Over the past five years, the Regiment has organized five field training exercises combined with civilian outreach, 30 "Green Sunday" activities with 1,500 man-days of work, and, together with local Party committees, authorities, and people, carried out many meaningful activities: repairing and dredging irrigation canals, building roads, cultural facilities, schools, etc. At the same time, it has helped many households in disadvantaged areas escape poverty.
Implement in a coordinated and comprehensive manner.
Implementing the "Skilled Mass Mobilization" emulation movement and building "Good Mass Mobilization Units" within the city's armed forces, agencies and units are linking the "Victory" emulation movement with the "Hue City Armed Forces joining hands to build new rural areas" emulation movement, the "Hue City Armed Forces joining hands for the poor - leaving no one behind" emulation movement, and other major campaigns; focusing on innovating the content, form, and methods of implementation, and mobilizing the participation of mass organizations. At the same time, they are closely monitoring the local area, coordinating closely with local Party committees, authorities, and forces to consistently apply the "3 close ties, 4 together" approach to propagate and mobilize the people; building a strong grassroots political system, participating in economic , cultural, and social development, sustainable poverty reduction; overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, preventing and controlling epidemics, and building a solid "people's support" base.
Highlights of the emulation movement in the 2021-2025 period include the proactive coordination and mobilization of 2,500 man-days to contribute to the construction of new rural areas: repairing and building nearly 20km of rural roads; dredging 10.5km of canals; providing medical examinations, treatment, and medicine to 1,200 people with a total cost of 300 million VND.
Many initiatives and models implemented by various units, with creative approaches and profound humanitarian significance, deserve to be replicated, such as: mobilizing 4.8 billion VND to build 89 new houses for eligible individuals and demolish 70 temporary or dilapidated houses for households facing housing difficulties; 7.5 billion VND to support the "Tet of Warmth Between Soldiers and Civilians" and "Green Sticky Rice Cakes for the Poor" programs; nearly 2 billion VND for the "Helping Children Go to School" program; and donating over 26 billion VND worth of gifts to more than 7,500 young people enlisting in the military…
The effectiveness of the "Skilled Mass Mobilization" emulation movement and the building of "Good Mass Mobilization Units" contributes to strengthening the solidarity, close ties, and consensus between the officers and soldiers of the city's armed forces and the local people, further enhancing the image of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers" in the hearts of the people.
Colonel Ha Van Ai, Deputy Political Commissar of the City Military Command, stated: The city's armed forces continue to closely monitor the local situation; strictly adhere to the motto "Listen to the people, explain so the people understand, and earn the people's trust" and the people-mobilization style of President Ho Chi Minh: "Be close to the grassroots, be near the people, respect the people, understand the people, learn from the people, and be responsible to the people." They organize people-mobilization work in a scientific, synchronized, comprehensive, focused, and targeted manner; persistently, regularly, continuously, and innovatively in the content and form of emulation, ensuring both breadth and depth. Through this, they contribute to consolidating and strengthening the great national unity, the military-civilian solidarity, building a solid foundation of people's support, maintaining political and social stability, and promoting local socio-economic development.
