According to estimates from the General Department of Customs, the export of fine art ceramic products in November 2023 reached the highest level in the past year, reaching 18.0 million USD, up 30.9% compared to October 2023, but down 3.0% compared to November 2022.

In the first 11 months of 2023, the export of fine art ceramics reached 131.85 million USD, down 37.5% over the same period in 2022.

Since the beginning of 2023, the import of fine art ceramics from Vietnam to the US and EU has tended to decrease. Currently, the market share of Vietnamese fine art ceramic products in major markets such as the US and EU has tended to decrease.

In October 2023, exports of fine art ceramic products to the EU market reached 5.04 million USD, an increase of 53.8% compared to September 2023, a decrease of 21.0% compared to October 2022.

In the first 10 months of 2023, the export of fine art ceramics to the EU accounted for 34.7% of the total export turnover of this item of the country, reaching 39.46 million USD, down 39.3% over the same period in 2022. Among the markets in the EU, the market share of Vietnamese fine art ceramics in Denmark is the largest.

According to statistics, the export of fine art ceramics to the US market in October 2023 reached 5.81 million USD, an increase of 47.1% compared to September 2023, a decrease of 8.5% compared to the same period in 2022. In the first 10 months of 2023, the export of fine art ceramics to the US accounted for 32.9% of the total export turnover of this item of the whole country, reaching 37.40 million USD, a decrease of 48.3% compared to the same period in 2022.

While Vietnam previously ranked second after China among the markets supplying fine art ceramics to the United States, in the first 9 months of 2023, imports of this item from Vietnam decreased sharply. Notably, in July 2023, US imports of fine art ceramics from Vietnam dropped sharply to the lowest level in nearly 8 years.

Although in the past 2 months, the US's import of fine art ceramics from Vietnam has increased again, it is still at a low level, reaching 2.43 million USD in September 2023, up 5.5% compared to August 2023, but down 61.9% compared to the same period in 2022. In the first 9 months of 2023, it reached 44.38 million USD, down 49.8% compared to the same period in 2022.

In the US market, Vietnam currently ranks 5th after China, Portugal, Mexico, Italy and Thailand, with its market share in the first 9 months of 2023 falling to 3.1% compared to 4.2% in the same period in 2022.

It is forecasted that Vietnam's fine art ceramic exports in the coming months will continue to face many difficulties and decrease compared to the same period in 2022. Therefore, in addition to traditional export markets, businesses should also focus on exploiting other markets such as China, India, Korea, Taiwan (China), Brazil...
