Not only increasing in quantity, the quality of Thanh Hoa's OCOP products is also focused on and improved, helping many agricultural products and handicrafts of this locality gradually affirm their position in the market.
Currently, OCOP products are present in all 26 districts, towns and cities of Thanh Hoa. Of which, Thanh Hoa city leads with 55 products, followed by Hoang Hoa district (45 products), Tho Xuan (42 products) and Nga Son (41 products). Other localities such as Yen Dinh, Nghi Son, Trieu Son, Quang Xuong, Thieu Hoa also have a significant number of OCOP products.
By 2025, the province aims to have 160 new products, including three products meeting 5-star standards. Nga Son district is the locality with the highest OCOP product development plan, with two 5-star products, two 4-star products and four 3-star products. Hoang Hoa district is also striving to have one more 5-star product. In addition, many other districts and towns are also actively participating with the desire to enhance the value of local specialties.
Thanh Hoa aims to have at least 1,000 OCOP products by 2027, including 10 5-star products.
Not only focusing on production, OCOP entities in Thanh Hoa also focus on finding outlets for their products. Previously, most goods were only consumed through traditional channels, but now, many businesses and production households have boldly put their products on e-commerce platforms such as Shopee, Lazada, Tiki, Sen Do, and at the same time promote them through social networks such as Facebook and Zalo.
Phuong Cuong Phuc Company Limited (Sam Son City), specializing in fish sauce production, is one of the successful units with this model. Thanks to online sales, 100% of the company's products are consumed stably, of which 45% are sold through digital platforms.
Thanh Lan Nem Chua production facility (Nga Son) used to only sell products in the traditional way, but when switching to online business, the consumption of Nem Chua increased from 6,500 to 9,000 - 10,000 pieces per day, helping to create stable jobs for many local workers.
Realizing the obvious effectiveness of digital transformation, Thanh Hoa province has organized many training courses for businesses and cooperatives to guide them on how to promote and introduce products on digital platforms. The province also focuses on trade promotion, bringing OCOP products to participate in fairs and exhibitions to reach more markets.
With the support of local authorities, the initiative of production facilities and the strong trend of digital transformation, Thanh Hoa OCOP products are increasingly affirming their position. Not only serving domestic demand well, many products have the potential to reach international markets, contributing to enhancing the value of local specialties and promoting rural economic development.
