Thanh Lam and Pham Phuong Thao shine in the music night "Vo Giam source"

On the evening of May 14, the Vi and Giam music art program organized by the Nghe An Association to pay tribute to five talented musicians from Nghe An: Nguyen Van Ty, Nguyen An Thuyen, Nguyen Trong Tao, Nguyen Tai Tue and Hong Dang took place at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace.

The source of Vi, Giam is directed by People's Artist Le Tien Tho, and musician An Hieu - son of the late musician An Thuyen - is the art consultant.

Dr. Le Doan Hop - Former Minister of Information and Communications , Chairman of Nghe An Association in Hanoi, Head of the program's organizing committee emphasized that although the 5 talented musicians of Nghe An have passed away, the imprint of their lives and immortal musical works, sweet lyrics, melodious and profound notes imbued with the folk songs Vi and Giam still stir forever in the minds of the audience.

"The five musicians from Lam Giang honored today are all worthy contributors to the treasure trove of Vietnamese music ; they are the pride of the people of Nghe An. The musicians' music has accompanied and flourished with the nation, creating bright milestones in the cultural flow and spiritual life of the people," affirmed Dr. Le Doan Hop.

The people of Nghe An in particular and the audience who love the 5 talented musicians in general were immersed in a musical space imbued with Nghe An folk songs.

The program consists of 3 parts: Dream of Homeland, Melody of Love, and Country's Melody, leading the audience through many levels of emotions. The source of Vi, Giam is a night of Vi, Giam folk songs, rich, quintessential, sweet like a mother's lullaby, like the cool water of Lam River, like the high peak of Dai Hue Mountain. All of them have the right flavor, blend, resonate, and spread to satisfy the 5 musicians in eternity, satisfying the public's previous expectations for the "grand musical feast".

The program opened with the song Listening to the Boat Song at Night, Remembering Uncle Ho (composer An Thuyen). That is the gratitude, the feelings, the love that the children of Nghe An send to Uncle Ho - the beloved father of the Vietnamese people, on the occasion of the 133rd anniversary of his birth.

In part 1 - Dreaming of the countryside, the audience heard the sweet voice of singer Pham Phuong Thao through two songs Neo dau ben que (musician An Thuyen) and Mot Khuc tam tinh nguoi Ha Tinh (musician Nguyen Van Ty). Each lyric in the song reminds the audience of the image of Hong mountain, Lam river - the source of folk songs, melodies of folk songs that captivate people's hearts, so that the sound of the homeland is always deep, a peaceful anchorage for everyone.

The source of Vi and Giam has nurtured the character and soul of many Nghe people. So that the songs of spicy ginger and salty salt, of alluvial soil of the homeland river, of the love of Nghe people, continue to be nurtured in songs that go through the years, captivating people's hearts. The songs Dream of the homeland (composer Nguyen Tai Tue, singer Huyen Trang) and Song hat of the homeland (composer Nguyen Trong Tao, singer Bui Le Man) have also conveyed that message.

In part 2 - Melody of love , the sound of homeland and the source of love with folk songs and folk songs, the musicians poured their souls into each lyric, note and sang out love melodies that touched the heart. From the love for their homeland of Nghe An, from the love of couples and the desire to contribute, they have contributed their efforts to Vietnamese music with a passionate love for the country, for the Fatherland.

In the final part with the theme of Country's zither, that love resounds in the melodies of the songs Xa khoi (composer Nguyen Tai Tue, singer Dinh Trang), Em chon luong nay (composer An Thuyen, singer Do To Hoa), Lang quan ho que toi (composer Nguyen Trong Tao, singer Luong Nguyet Anh), Tieng hat giua rung Pac Po (singer Vu Thang Loi) - a song by musician Nguyen Tai Tue, in which when listening to this melody, the listener sees the shape of the Fatherland.

The song "The Sea Sings This Afternoon" (composer Hong Dang, Meritorious Artist Vu Tien Lam) is the closing song of the program. This must be the intention of the organizers so that when the audience leaves, the two words "homeland" will still echo forever, as if reminding the children of Nghe An about the source of Vi and Giam, which not only gave them beautiful melodies of love but also inspired their faith and pride in the Fatherland.

Over 90 minutes of the program, through the skillful connection and performance of the singers combined with the songs of 5 musicians, the audience saw the cultural identity and fine traditions of the Nghe people flowing in the Vietnamese ethnic community.
